FRH intake manifold insall questions

Hey guys ive searched quite a bit and cant seem to find definitive answers. I would like to know from someone who has installed the Forrester cast manifold, did you have to redo your upper intercooler piping and did you have to relocate your battery? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does forrester locate tb closer to stock, old magnus style or new magnus cast?

I'm not sure about the intercooler piping and how it compares to the magnus intake. I cant tell you that the stock battery location is fine. Here a couple of pictures. One with my gm maf setup and stock battery and the other is the most recent speed density setup. I can tell you that you will have to extend your tps sensor wires and flip it around 180 degrees. I have the ETS intercooler piping for the stock intake maifold. I had to shorten the uicp a few inches to match up with the throttle body elbow. It was too high. That was it though.

How did you invert the TPS? i am having the same problem with mine. Is there anyting need to change in order for the ecu to properly recieved the signal?

You just need to flip it around. Nothing needs to be changed in order for it to read correctly.

Just hook it back up and get it set to .63 volts in link and you should be good to go.

It's a DNP T3 manifold.

I would uninstall that Forrester manifold and get a Jmf or cyclone. I had one and it made great top end power. The low end and midrange is straight garbage though. Don't use the phenolic spacer because it leaks like crazy if you don't retighten manifold often. The phenolic spacer will shrink after a few thousand miles and the manifold will leak. See if Jmf will sell you an aluminum spacer. Be careful with the n/a 1g throttle body because the lower area will not seal against the throttle body flange part of the Forrester intake manifold. You will need to weld the throttle body to seal correctly if you use Forrester intake with an N/A throttle body.

Well I've never had any problems with my FRH intake. I have had a few different ones on my cars over the years. One of his first prototypes was installed on one of my cars about 10 years ago. Phenolic spacer should be fine if you use an intake manifold gasket on both sides of it. Dale is a friend of mine and said that is what works best.

I believe he still has some. They are the newer style ones with the o-ring and not the paper gasket. I can find out if you want.

I've had a few customers swap to Forrester from JMF street and Magnus street. I'll just say this. In over 2yrs not one customer I've had has had complained about performance swapping to the Forrester yet!!!

I would love to compare them against the cyclone results posted in my profile and for that matter against each other. I have the jmf street in my possession and in a bit will install it to do some testing.

I did use two gaskets. When I took it off, the phenolic spacer was indented by the compression of manifold flange and head intake flange. This problem is similar to the plastic heat shield gasket that people use on their intake manifold. The phenolic spacer is not a good idea at all.

This was my Jmf race manifold vs the Forrester intake manifold test.
As you can see , the Jmf make the turbo spool a bit faster. Is it worth switching? Maybe not to some people.

It's nice to see a dyno comparison. Not really too much difference between the two. The price is the main difference. I believe Dale was selling them for $350 back in the day. I think the JMF one is around $500 or so. Thanks for the comparison.
