Here's a couple of shots of my GST spyder fresh out of the body shop. Now I am just waiting for my Evo III, Walbro pump, Fuel reg, 680 Inj, boost controller, and SAFC-II to arrive (UPS is soooo slow). I can't wait.....What rims do you think would complete this set up?

Oddly enough I saved about $500 to go with this setup than going back to stock after my accident??

Looks so sexy. Did you have to get a new radiator support aswell? My accident is similar to yours, need a new hood and quarter panel :(

That looks almost as good as cookies fresh out of the oven ...ALMOST.

Yeah I had to get new radiator supports and radiator. The only "bad" thing was the waste gate arm bent and first time I nailed it, boosted to 1.5 bar and now my turbo seals are smoking somewhat. I bought a EVOII "kit" through turbochargers.com (anyone have experience with this kit?)that includes the install kit, MHI EVOIII and GT headers and it came in today. I am waiting for the fuel management stuff to get here and I'll let you know what happens.

car looks clean as hell...but..theres always a but..like posted above that front is hot but the sides make it look like it should have matchign side skirts, because they bulge out. as for rims, you cant go wrong with a set of 18 inch black rims..black with chrome lip..black with polished lip,,flat black no lip.etc.

I love the hood and front end, but like TrboANTsi already said, the sideskirts just don't look right. A good set of 18" chrome wheels with black accents would look great on it. (maybe MODA MD2 with black accents)

Ok no one is allowed to laugh at me as this is my first jump in the "cosmetics" of cars but...what are side skirts. I assume that they are those body kits that go around the side and back on the bottom? Where do I find em and how can I make sure that they will "flow" with lines of the bumper.

Remember no laughing.

Also, I can't seem to find consensus on whether I am going to have problems with swallowing water through those vents into my intake.

Side skirts are those long "rectangle caps/covers" that are on the side of your car at the bottom. You have the stock 2gb side skirts. From the looks of it, you chose the drift front bumper (correct me if I'm wrong). So where ever you bought it from just search "drift side-skirts". Should come up with some pics for ya

Side skirts are the pieces along the bottom of the door, and which vents are you talking about? ooops you beat me to it ha.

thanks guys!! You sure know your DSM's....it is the drift bumper.

those vents I was talking about are right on top of the hood and look like they line up nicely with the exhaust manifold (gets a lot of heat out of the engine bay). It doesn't look like water could splash over to the filter but I don't want to find out the hard way...know what I mean? Anyone heard of someone having that problem?

Yes, I believe you could possibly hydro-lock the motor if enough water is sucked up in through the filter. Some people have fabricated a "cover" or "shield" around the filter to keep the water from being sucked in though the filter. There are also some hoods that come with covers for the vents also.

Search vfaq.com on how to make a air box for your filter. There's some good stuff on there.

Well, now there is a difference between an "air box" to block the water and an "air box" to block the heat. OP- you want to cover your entire filter not just a piece of sheet metal placed in between your filter and your MAS.

Looks nice man! Did you even think of painting your wheels black with a polished lip? would look 10x better personally

That was my other thought about painting the rims....I can't seem to find any pictures of someone that has done this so I'm scared it will look ghetto.

I agree here, with the black hood a set of black rims with chrome lip would really complement the vehicle. I personally would not go with 18" though, because of the price and harsh ride. I would go with 17" rims they still give you the look you deserve and a more comfortable ride. I have 17's on my 1990 GSX coincidently being picked up from the body shop today.

Well Im doing mine when it gets warm out Ill send ya some pictures of them. They'll look good if you do them right.

Yeah shoot me some pics when you have em.....I did a search but can't find any pics of soemone that powder coated the stock rims....anyone seen em? Can you powder coat just the interior and leave the lip chrome or would that just look stupid?

The only real way to hydrolock is if your filter is submerged and youre at full throttle... the cylinder has to be completley filled... thats how we can have water injection :thumb: I wouldnt worry about it too much.
