For those having a problem locating a replacement FPS (myself included), I may have found an alternative.
These below are for a 00-03 Mazda Protege EGR solenoid. The one on the left matches a DSM configuration exactly and is about $20, the one on the right has the inlet port on the opposite side and is about $13. If you've bypassed the FPS and just care to solve the CEL problem, then the one on the right should solve it just fine. I just purchased the $13 one and I'll update how it works. I don't see why it wouldn't. A 12V solenoid is a 12V solenoid?
The OEM harness does not match so you will have to crimp your own spade terminal.
