FPR Solenoid Bypass

I flipped through the forums an cant find the exact answer.

Is there a simplistic way of bypassing the solenoid itself? I have had a CEL this thing for a year and i wanna get rid of it. I don't wanna buy a new one because i don't have any vacuum lines running to it and, it is plugged but still a CEL. Can i cut the wires an tie them together to complete the circuit or is that incorrect?

What CEL are you getting? I don't think I've heard of a CEL being thrown if it's left plugged in.

You might be able to find a used one and try it out. I'm not sure if the "circuit completion" method would work.

Crap i cant remember the code i know its for the fuel pressure regulator solenoid. I cant get the code cause dsmlink has the ecu right now.

The FPR solenoid is a 2 wire connector, it should not be DTC detectable by the ECU. It can only be turned on and off.

So your saying if i unplug it i wont have a code anymore? Or am i off the reservation

My car, with a 95 ECU, doesn't have a CEL for the FPR solenoid, and I've had it removed for a long time, as well as all other useless stuff under the hood.

If your doing link then dont worry about it. You can tell the ecu not to look for it in link.

The ECU can sense if any current flows and know if something is connected.
