Well ive got a 99 gst and also have been looking at these 2 turbos. it will be on
a pump gas tune and was wondering what would be a better set up. what rpm do each of these turbos see full boost at? Anyone who has used these turbos i would appreciate the input.

3052 here as well, I see 20psi right around 4000rpms. Could probably lower that slightly as I have done nothing to the tune pre spool to help with spool up but being fwd I don't really worry about fastest spool possible. I run ~25psi daily with pump & meth injection & the car defently pulls hard. When I go to the track I still run the same pump & meth injection but usually add some NOS octane booster to be on the safe side & have run in the 27psi range. It seem the 3065 add's 400-500rpms spool time on average vs the 3052. What are your power goals for the car & what about spool, your driving characteristics etc? Personally I think the 3052 is a great street turbo, I would say just as streetable as my old evoIII & I actually like the way boost comes on better with the 3052.

how much power are you making with your 3052 on pump gas. Thats all i want is really good supporting mods and like 400whp or more. Also what are your times at the track?

I have never taken the car to the dyno & I no longer run straight pump (meth injection is defently something you should look into if you haven't already) but @ 25 psi I'm flowing around 45-47lb/min (depending on inlet temps), so should be around 450-470 crank hp or I would think around the 400 whp mark.

My track times don't mean much as I'm fwd. Best I could get on my 225/40/18 Kumho MX street tires was ~13.65 @ 109-113 mph (tires with that small of a sidewall are pretty useless at the track, they spin & hop all over the place in 1st & 2nd). My 60ft would have been around 2.4, which should give you an idea of where the time should have been compared to an awd with a descent 60. I picked up some Hoosier DR's & went to the track once with them, they are a tonn better but there should still be alot left in the tires/car as I was leaving easy off the line. Car ran 13.20 @ 114.7 but still with a 2.3 60 ft. So again an awd with a half descent launch (~1.8's) would be hitting mid to low 12's with the same tune. This was running around 26psi but boost wasn't stable the whole pull (sometimes hit like 27-28 initially but dropped to 24-25, etc)

FP3052 is definitely next on my list. What I've noticed is that even with a fast spooling turbo (3400 rpm @ 21 psi on a T28 in my case), my peak torque doesn't really hit big time until 4500 rpm's anyway, at least on my car. I could live with a bigger turbo as long as it came on full boost about 500 rpm before my current torque peak.

This leads up to my question, at what rpm's do you FP3052 owners hit your peak torque when going WOT? Subjective "seat of the pants" opinions are welcome too.

I would have to double check my logs later on but IIRC my peak torque is right around the 4500 mark. With my evoIII I use to hit 20 psi right around the 3500 mark, & like I mentioned above, even though the 3052 adds 500rpms or so lag, I still enjoy the way boost comes on with the 3052 much more. It actually will start building boost abit under 3000rpms so it's not completely gutless in the lower rpms, which is great for the DD'r. The boost comes on fairly linear till around the mid 3000's range, then hold on ;)

Edit: Had some logs saved on my laptop I was able to check. Peak torque is right around the 4800 mark. Boost looks like this from ~2000-2200 pull. 3000rpms 4psi, 3500rpms 9psi, 4000rpm 20psi, 4300rpm 25psi.

Awesome info, just what I needed:thumb: Now, I just have to decide whether I can part with ~$2400 for the full installWTF
