i was looking into getting a fp big t28 for my 91talontsi and everyone that has wrote feedback on it have 2g so will it bolt onto my 1g i know to get the better manifold on supporting mods jw if it will hook up

If you're getting it brand new from FP the price is pretty steep. The evo3 big 16g flows more and is almost $300 cheaper. If you're getting a deal like I did ($200), I would go for it. I love it but I wouldn't pay $832 for it. What are your goals for the the car?

A 16G would be a much better choice for your car. The T-28 will bolt up to your stock manifold but the compressor outlet pipe is in a different location which would require a new pipe from the turbo to the intercooler and you would also have to get all new coolant and oil feed lines. The 16G is a direct bolt on for your car and will not require all those new parts. The stock turbo on a 1G is a 14B so the next step up is the 16G. The stock turbo on a 2G is a T-25 so the next step up is the T-28. The FP Big28 is a great turbo (I'm going to get one for my car soon) but for the money a Big 16G is much better, preferably the Evo III Big 16G. The 16G's are better for peak power too.

Why struggle to install a turbo that is intended to be a direct bolt-on for a 2G on your 1G? Nothing will be the same.

If you're looking for T28 performance in a turbo that will directly bolt to your car, find yourself a Small 16G. If you want more airflow for the same money, buy an Evo III 16G. Both are cheaper than the T28.

The t-28 is a direct bolt on for 2g's yet people including myself prefer the 16g even though it doesn't bolt straight up. If 2g owners are willing to sacrifice ease to use a 16g over a t-28, then why would any 1g owner want to sacrifice ease when the preferred turbo of the two bolts straight up to the 1g?

I'd say go for FP's 68HTA turbo...seems to be a banging street turbo from what I hear and would be bolt on for you.
