The turbo was ported and clipped when purchased new through Forced Performance. I am wondering what boost pressure does this turbo start loosing efficiency at? I have a logger and will be watching my timing but I just want to be making boost and not blowing hot air.

Depends what intercooler your running, what fuel you have, and some other things. You'll always be blowing hot air, that's what happens to air when you compress it, it gets hot.

if its clipped it should be able to maintain higher boost pressures than a "stock" evo3 16g. I'd say it would be perfectly happy living at 20-25psi. What are your goals? What are your plans? And what are your mods?

Mods are in profile. I am wanting to run 24-25 psi. Hoping for around 350whp on 93 octane.

Will be upgrading to a 50trim in early summer, Link in late summer.

If your buying a 50 rim in a matter of months, why would you buy a brand new e316g?Do you like throwing away money?

The Evo 3 16g was bought less than a month before I bought the car. I didn't buy it but it is practically new. I know it's new because I have all the receipts from the previous owner.

Looks like you have s descent sized FMIC so that kind of boost shouldn't be an issue with a proper tune. Guys that are pushing the evoIII to the limits are usually running close to the 30psi mark but boost will tend to drop off to the mid 20's range & will vary abit depending on your supporting mods (suchs as cams, etc)
