Does anyone know how much I would be looking to spend to do a transmission swap on a 97 RS from auto to manual including parts and labor?
Thanks in advance

I'm in the process of doing this on my 1992. Or at least gathering the parts together and the such.

If you get all of your parts brand new- expect to spend a few grand on the project (master cyl, shifter, etc. etc. etc.).

If you can find a donor car at a junk yard then you're much better off. I paid 500 bucks for a whole parts car (a 1990 RS Turbo). I'm not 100% sure if the transmissions are swappable from 2g's to 1g's but that's about what you can expect to pay if you just want the trans, assembly, etc.

Labor is going to be a BIG varying factor because the project isn't complex (as is detailed in the VFAQ link up top) but it is incredibly time consuming (requires the removal of the steering assembly, trans, installation of the MC, etc. etc. etc.). I know most shops (Like TRE) won't even touch a conversion, so your best bet is to call around.

priced it for mine AWD is around 1500-2200 range depending where you get your parts, ether from a yard or the dealer, i've come to face the fact if you want a manual car, buy one....and as things are going at the moment, i'll probley be leaving the dsm world.
