fog light's as DRL's. help!

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone has done this before. US model vehicles do not need DRL's (daytime running lights) but I'm curious to know, has someone installed a relay and ran their fog lights as DRL's and if so, could you shed some light on how to do it?

In order to import cars into Canada they need DRL's so for mine I removed the relay in the under hood fuse box, put a spade connector in the slot that is the output to the lights, run a wire to a relay, which is hooked to a constant power source then picked up the signal to switch on the relay from a + lead for one of the fuel injectors(there is always + to the injectors when the car is running, the ecu switches the - to control them).

I simply removed all of the above and put the stock relay back after it passed inspection

Edit, oh wait, you are in Canada, so your car must have had something done to it to pass inspection.

Honestly, no..my car is plated and I got the safety, mechanic didn't notice the drl's not running. So I was trying to figure out how do I make them run the fogs.

There's a simple mod to allow you to turn on your fogs any time the parking lights are on (search for it). Since your car doesn't have DRLs, you then just turn on the parking lights and the fogs, and you have something close to what you want. (I used to drive around like that quite often when I was younger.) If you alter the mod so you don't need the parking lights, then you have exactly what you want.
