fog light question

ok so i went out and got the 885 fog light bulbs for my 1990 talon becasue after some searching it seems like they are better then the 37watt stock bulbs becasue they are 50 watt bulbs but here is the question how do i put them in haha i know noob question but the screws in the front of the housing are a pia and wont budge loose do i need to take the entire fog light out to do it or can i just drill out the screw and replace it when im all done

On my 91 the foglights take H3 bulbs.

I had to EZ out all but 1 of the screws and I just replaced them. They are metric but a #10 machine screw (I think) is close enough in thread pitch that it works just fine.

The plastic adjuster screw was stripped on both too... I just heated up a flat screwdriver blade with a torch and melted in a new slot. Worked out great.

nice thanks ill try that out here tomorrow either that or il just drill out the screw and get new screws kind of a pia if the bulbs blow haha

Get us some pictures of your fog lights. If yours use the 885s, they install from the back and just twist in.

do want a picture of just the front or when they come out casue i have to get them out first haha thats the problem the bulbs isnt a big deal if i got the wrongs one the parts store is across the street from my hosue

The Cibie lights use H3s. It will say Cibie on the lense (least mine do) Stock bulbs are 37 watt. I put 50 watt silverstars and no wiring issues. They also make a 100watt bulb but I wasn't sure the stock wiring would hold up to that.

Nate, as we went through the last time you brought this up, Cibie lamps were not stock on DSMs.

You never mentioned anything about that actually... just that whatever brand lights were on your car used the 885 bulb. I was under the impression that several different brand lights were used over the years.

As far as I know my car is 100% bone stock, but who knows what the previous owner did.

those bolts are always stuck good. just put some pb blaster on there and then try, if that doesnt work get to drilling.
