I have a 1ga talon that I am in the process of replacing/restoring all the lighting housings on the front of the car. While I had everything apart, I figured I would try to upgrade the bulbs to something more modern looking in the process. It looks like the factory H3 bulbs are only 35w and most of the aftermarket replacement bulbs are 55w. Is there any concerns with running the higher wattage bulbs on the stock wiring?

What has everyone else used in their fog lights? Pics would be appreciated.

a 35w bulb pulls 2.9A @ 12v
55w pulls 4.58A @ 12v

you could switch to a LED bulb like THIS

Also if you wanted to you could run HID’s in there
Most aftermarket HID kits come with 35w ballasts
So your current draw would be exact!
