Ok well im shopping for a 97 talon or eclipse front bumper right now and im deciding between the 97+ fog lights or 96 stealth fog lights. Now my question is, i want to run yellow bulbs in the fogs and im wondering if anybody has experience w/ a good set of bulbs that dont wear out. Ive heard PIAA burn out quick, although i wouldnt have the fogs on much unless i need them in heavy fog or rain b/c i know how much it pisses me off when i someone rolls by in the other direction and blinds the hell out of me w/ the yellows. Anyway, thanks in advance.

1.) How much of your time do you spend looking at things under yellow light?

2.) Foglights don't cut fog worth a shit. It doesn't matter what color the bulbs are.

3.) Regular foglight bulbs (H-3) are readily available at 55W (stock) 85W, 100W and 130W.

4.) Even 130W foglights don't cut fog worth a shit.

Foglights are most useful as what they're sometimes called: cornering lights.

Stay with the usual, cheap Sylvania (OSRAM), Bosch, or Philips bulbs. The PIAAs are just far too expensive to be worth it.

Ive seen research on yellow bulbs being better. I have also taken rides in a few cars/trucks w/ yellow fog light bulbs and they just seem to work a hell of a lot better then stock or any watt white bulb. The look of it attracts me to it too, but the main reason is i just want to see better in the fog and the rain. Im just looking for a decent yellow bulb.

Fog lights real purpose arent to cut through fog, no light can really cut through fog, the brighter the light the more fog you will see infront of you, Light when hitting a reflective surface such as water, or in this case water vapor will cause it to illuminate and shine back, SCIENCE!!!! Fog lights work best in very close range directly infront of the car to light up and illuminate the road directly infront of the car below where the normal headlights range can reach. Hence why fog lights are supposed to be installed as low as legally possible and as far apart as can be mounted on a car to work correctly. Mounting them close together like in the center next to one another not only looks horrible it serves no purpose. Ive gone through a number of different fog lights, and have found PIAA to be the best, the ones i bought cost around 90 dollars, and they are fantastic, even in the thickest fog, the road directly infront of my car is illumanted perfectly so i can see the road im actualy driving on. As for yellow, everyone has there own personal taste, i had the yellow for about a week b4 i wanted to shoot myself for ever putting them on. The PIAA's i have now are kinda like super whites, clear white light with a bluish tint.

The human eye sees the color yellow the easiest. So at night you can see more detail under yellow alumination.

Fog lights dont cut through fog.. they are aimed further toward the ground so you can see the road in front of you instead on the clouds your going throguh in front of your headights.
