Changing fog light bulbs on 2G GSX

are the 95-96 fogs also h3?

I just got foglights for a conversion (97-99) and they are not working. I hard wired them. I am getting proper voltage but the lights are not turning on. Don't know what else can be wrong besides them being toast.

my 95-96 still work, so if they are also h3 is it possible to swap the bulbs from there to the 97-99 fogs.

Thank you for the clarification. I knew my wiring was correct, I shouldve checked the bulbs to begin with to save from the labor of removing and putting back the bumper.. again.

Here is something stupid, I didnt know how to remove the H3 bulb, I thought it was just the bulb, so I pried it out with force! haha, to realize its that whole assembly with the quick connect!

Anyways replaced them and all is well. Surprisingly the bolts were easy to get out.

I could not imagine how to remove the fog lights with the bumper on. You can easily remove the one with the spring, but the 2 on the side seems unlikely unless there is some special technique.

Yep. Thread revival here, as I didn't get the information I was hoping for thus far.

I have a 1995 Eclipse GSX 2ga. Trying to change out the fog light bulbs is a pain as the screws are stuck tight. I believe I need a torx HEX tool to remove the bolts correctly.

Can someone please verify for me the correct torx hex size I need to fit these bolts, so that I can purchase the right tool? Also, other posts mentioned replacing the bolts with stainless steel. Can someone please tell me the correct size bolts to purchase for this replacement?

Thanks.

*EDIT* I was wrong on the torx, it's actually a hex-socketed bolt and one needs a hex key/allen key tool to remove it. It appears that a 5mm size is the closest I found. My luck is I'm still having trouble breaking the bottom bolt loose as the hex key keeps slipping and I fear the hex socket on the bolt is beginning to round out. I'll try hitting it with PB blaster and hammering the key in before torquing and see if I can manage to remove it.

Just did this today, it took 2 hours for me but next time shorter because i know what to do now. Things needed are: flashlight, WD-40, small flat head, pliers, med. phillips, ratchet with extensions and universal joint, and a 10mm socket. Note: a lift bay makes this job 10x easier if you cant get to one use jack stands. I had a lift bay. But looking at your car. Step 1: Look behind your foglight and disconnect the power cable to your foglight, unscrew your foglight cover and move it to the side. Step 2: take your flashlight and look towards the back of the foglight. You will see that your foglight is attached to a plate which is bolted to the body of your car. Two bolts on the top and one on the bottom. Also note there is an adjustment screw on the top right of your foglight, it has a spring on it. (Thats reason the foglight cover has a random hole in it. Not to make the car look cool but to adjust the light without removing you cover). Step 3: After you seen all you need to remove, spay it all with WD-40, then grab your phillips and unscrew the adjustment screw. When your done tilt the fog light down to get a clear view of the two top bolts, grab your ratchet with a long extension, universal joint and 10mm socket and unbolt all three bolts (might take you awhile but you have to move around to get to everything) your foglight should just fall off. Step 4: Take out the foglight, put in on the table and clean you hands good, flip the foglight upside down and you will see a cover with three small screws holding it down, use your phillips to remove them (Please be gentle when removing please or your screwed). Step 5: Once you have the cover off, its a tight fit carefully unclip the bulb remove it and gently pull on the cord where it connects (its covered with a white sleeve) while wiggling it back and forth or use a small flat head. It will eventually snap off, clip the new bulb in, plug the power cord back in (should snap back on if not clamp on it using pliers). Carefully put the cover back on, snuggly tighten the three screws, and put the foglight back on. Repeat steps for the passenger side....took me no time for the passenger side to me it was the easiest.

The end result, now just need to get upgrade the headlights. :)
