Its not a mistake to get a streetcore. Granted its not huge, but it will support a lot of power and large turbos. When you order just ask Ken and see what he recommends. Id say if your going to be running t3/t4 or 20g or less than it should be fine,

ahh... maybe, dont want to turn this into a CFM flame war. but i should have gotten the race core. anyway i need to see more pics of you're car with those rims?

I know your right about the whole cfm thing, the streetcore definetly isnt the best, but its good for the price. I have a few more pics on the disk at home, but I would need someone to onvert them from PSD. to .JPG so I can upload them on the site. John did it for me last time, my comp just cant do it cause I dont have photoshop or anything. If you can help me out I could post like 1 or 2 more side view close up and stuff...

BTW they were a killer deal at wheelmax. I got them for 950$ w/ tires mounted and balanced (215/45/17 Khumo 711...shoulda got 225 712's but had no more cash...) They look good with the black top, and gun metal wheels IMO. They are 17x7.5 and weight like 17 lbs or something, thats what the guy at 5zigen told me.

i agree i love my street core but for 250 bucks i should have gotten the race core. i have photoshop if you want to email me the pics i can change the format and size them for you.

Well im planning on running the AGP L2R down the line so i'd need a good intercooler. Im gonna put the intercooler on with my stock turbo for now until I get the L2R. Do you guys think that the street core will be enough or should i just go straight to the race core? I dont really see much of a difference because the stock bumper covers most of the race core anyways (correct me if im wrong). Also, would i be able to keep my stock fog lights with the race core? What are extruded tubing cores?

yes get the race core, yes you can keep you're fog lights the race core is taller not wider. the extruded tubing cores are supposed to be SUPER efficent ask ken about them avalibility my be low right now. from what i understand spoolinup burned a ton of people on a extruded tubing intercooler group buy, ask ken about it.

especially if its taller and not wider than the street core, wouldn't the same amount of intercooler be exposed through the mouth?

Yes that is true, but regardless of ow much is showing the race core is more efficient and will definetly cool the charge and flow much more cfm. Its a great intercooler for the price he does them for. Its a spearco 2-216 and those have been proven time and time again by many.

ok then Race core it is! thanx. One more question.... Is the L2R turbo bigger than a T3/T4? Cuz i was looking at the AGP website and the intake side of the L2R looks small compared to the intake side of the T3/T4. Eventhough the exhaust side is huge on it. Also, what size trim compressor wheel is it?
Candela: do you have any pix of your car? (FMIC, Turbo, etc...)

Yes the L2r is bigger, and your probably thinking of the compressor not the turbine housing. I only have a few pics up right now, not very good ones. I only have a 16g turbo, no big deal there dude...

cuz my friend has a T3/T4 and he swears that its bigger than the L2R. He saw the pictures and he said that it looks small compared to his T3/T4

Boy, are you sure right. I was one of those unlucky bastards that bought into that farce of a GB. Thankfully, I'm in the process of getting a full refund and getting a REAL fmic kit, not some fairy tale pipe dream..

It'll either be a ADFX or an IRC, leaning towards ADFX b/c they have a large stock of extruded tube cores and people actually HAVE their fmic's on their cars! What an amazing thought!

The extruded tube are "supposed" to be more efficient & whatnot. Our street & race cores currently use only spearco cores. We have a few very large extruded tube cores on order from ADFX (had them on order forever from CAS.... but they never showed). These will be our new "Track Core" for the really fast guys where even the race core isn't enough. The core will measure 26 x 11.8x 4.375... We hope to have these on several 9 sec cars before the season is completely over (these are not for the faint at heart). Our Race core measures 28x 10.5 x 3.5 & the street core measures 24 x 8 x 3.5. That makes the race cores 4" longer & 2" taller... they are both 34" from side to side after the endtanks are added though... this is due to the pipe routing that we use. We normally recomend the race cores over the street core for most cases... but for some the extra $250 is just not doable at that time. The race core flows better, cools better, & allows better airflow to the radiator. We've had several instances of overheating w/ the street core & only a slight few w/ the race core. Also I and several other people trim out the stock bumper to allow even more airflow to the FMIC/radiator. OK.. now I'm just starting to ramble on here (bored at work).

I have a the IRC Street core with a T3/T4 50 trim turbo. No problems here. My engine does get quite hot and I think next year I will install a fluidynde radiator and a few small mods to get more air to the radiator.
