Flywheel recommendation

Right now, I have an act 2600 with a southbend tz kevlar disc and fidanza flywheel. Ever since install, I've had start up issues...mainly my starter not engaging the flywheel. However I did buy it used a lo time ago. Anyways, I'm looking to end the nightmare and just replace it and I would like some recommendations. If you look at my mod list, it's up to date, but for those to lazy to look

Goal:400+ whp
Significant other mods: kelford 272, evo8 rod/piston on 99 block, fmic, 1000ccs, tmz stage 2 w/4 spider...

Sounds like a problem with the starter. I would replace it and inspect the teeth of the flywheel while your at it. But if your clutch is working minus the starter issue, I would leave it alone. Maybe when it comes time for a clutch replacement go for a ACT or Fidanza flywheel, but the stocker will hold up just fine.

I've been thru 6 starters and just had mine rebuilt. What it does is engages then freespins. I've had this issue for months and it only really started when I replaced the flywheel

You probably have an awd flywheel in the fwd bellhousing which will not work. The awd flywheel is a smaller diameter and the teeth on the starter can't engage it.

...I'm awd swapped....I kinda need an awd flywheel... Lol

Did you swap the flywheel plate?

Did you put the dowels in the block that hold the starter plate in place?

No. I did buy the flywheel used but it was only used for daily driving for about 3k.

The starter plate is in place perfectly fine

Can't recall the differences between the plate, but the 2g FWD and AWD plates have different part numbers.

The only other thing I can think of is the solenoid contacts and wire terminals being dirty causing the starter to not engage.

Don't be fooled by the awd swapped tag. The only part of that car that is legitly gst is chassis, evereyhhing else was swapped from my old 99 gsx (evo 3 head, 99 block, 95-96 bell housing with 99 gearset

Are you 100% sure it's an AWD flywheel? Did you verify the teeth count? I know 110 teeth is FWD. Can't remember what AWD is. 107 maybe.
