Hello everyone......

I purchase my FIRST DSM 95 AWD Talon back in Early Feb. with "SOME" mods on the car.... But had vibrations/noises on deceleration... Pevious owner changed the clutch and pressure plate"5,000 miles ago" but left the stock flywheel as is because the car only have 67,000 miles. :sneaky: We thought that maybe the flywheel was just warp or something so I went ahead and bought a stage 3 clutch kit with a lighter flywheel without lifting the car up. Couple of days ago, my car did something crazy and died. Tried starting it and it sounded like the starter went out/ making noise. So I decided to get it in the air slap in my new clutch kit and change the starter while i'm at the firewall. Now I got the trans dropped and for the FIRST TIME in my young life I look at the flywheel bolts and THEY ARE Grinded/pieces/metal DUST. LOL! ALL 7 BOLTS!!!! My only conclusion is that the previous owner didn't torque the bolts to spec and he drove it til one or two bolts was left for me to break.

I want to get it done and have my car back on the road by Friday and I was wondering do ANYBODY know the actual size, thread, length of the bolt... for I have NO CLUE and search this VERY Helpful forum and the net. But if I have to order them and wait for shipping then... that what I have to do... thanks.

I have called Mitsu dealership here near Detroit and they told me that they don't know the size of the bolts and it will take 3 to 5 days for the bolts to get to them:cry:

Also, should I take my starter out the car and get it tested or do you guy think the car wasn't starting because of no bolts which causes the starter to make noise...

Flywheel bolts should always be replaced with OEM parts. They are very hard bolts (Grade 11) and nothing from a local hardware store can be used.

Check out some of the vendors on here (ExtremePSI, JNZ Tuning, MAPerformance) as they might be able to get them cheaper than your local dealer.

It wouldn't hurt to have the starter tested, but if there is a problem it would be the gear that meshes with the flywheel ring gear.

To be honest, I would wait until you can get the factory flywheel bolts. I wouldn't chance something as important as that. You could overnight ARP flywheel bolts from Summit Racing. I think they're for Toyota's but they work on our cars. Best case scenario would be to wait for the factory flywheel bolts to come in or order this kit: DSM Graveyard - Your #1 Source for Used DSM Parts!

Thanks snowborder.... I order them from Extreme PSI. They were friendly and I should get my bolts sometime friday. :hellyeah: Hopefully I will be able to get everything back up .....Just in time to show it off Friday night. I do need to get back to my garage and check my crank for damage..... Have anyone heard of their bolts breaking like that on the flywheel. I want to make sure of the cause..... I will have pictures up in a few...
