Flyweel tool needed?

I have a simple question.
Do I need a flywheel tool to install a new flywheel?
I'm looking at these here.

I'm asking because one I don't have an impact and two when I searched nothing came up.

You'll need to keep the crank from spinning somehow.

If you don't want to buy that tool, you can always insert a 1/2" ratchet between one of the crankshaft counterweights and the bridge of the main cap. This will keep the crank from spinning while you torque the flywheel bolts to spec, but of course, this method also requires the oil pan to be removed.

I think I'm going to buy the tool.
It will be good to have around in the future.
Will any of these universal flywheel tools work with a 4g63?
I've never changed out a flywheel before, I just want to make sure.

It should work on ANY flywheel/flexplate with an outter ring gear.

I just stuck a large philips screw driver through one of the holes in the flywheel and turned the flywheel til the screw driver jammed against the block.

Look at RRE's (roadraceengineering.com) DSM Flywheel and Clutch Info page for a pic of the flywheel. you will see the holes I am talking about.
