ok guys i have a 98 gsx. the car runs fine and drives good. The only thing thats wrong is i get a weird fluttering/chattering noise when driving.
how is sounds when driving:
1st gear: cant hear it
2nd gear: VERY noticeable (gets louder with rpm)
3rd gear: barely noticeable
4th gear: extremely faint
5th gear: cant hear it
its not the turbo.
not belts.
to me it sounds like the transmission area....
maybe a bearing of some sort.....?
i can only describe the noise as being a flutter more than chatter.
the kind of sound youd hear if someone was swinging something by your face, and steadily swung it faster........ that whoosh......whoosh.... whoosh...whoosh..whoosh. whoosh. whoosh whoosh sound
...but under the car near the tranny area.....
seems to have gotten louder over the last few months..
any ideas what it may be...???
