What oil should i put in a 167,000 mile turbo 1G talon and also best coolant? I was going to put synthetic but then i was told not to that it would smoke and then i was going to put 5 30 but then i was told dont because it will bog on the turbo and cams. Then i was told to put Synthetic Blend. Im so confused. Also as far as coolant whats the best or is any brand 50 50 good?

The head has been cleaned and machined to spec and the car is almost back together it will be done and running tomorrow.... Keep your fingers crossed.

You can run synthetic blend if you wish. I don't see why you can not run 5w30 the 5 is for temperatures the oil will be viscus for. As far as coolant should be greed or compatible. You can not mix green/yellow with gm they react to each other and eat up aluminum in the process.

You can run many of different oils, I run 10w-30 synthetic mobile 1. Just remember if you run synthetic you need to keep running it. You can use most 50/50 antifreeze. Make sure it says that you can mix it with any other color antifreeze to be on the safe side.

ALso I would like to know if the oil pump sprocket is not aligned in the timing system would it throw the cars running off because mine was 180 off?? (I think its also the counter balance?)

There is no magic issue's that will form from switching to synthetic and back to mineral. There are very few true synthetic oil. Mobil is not a pure synthetic, it's still mineral based. On high mileage engine's however it's not recommended to switch as synthetics can break up deposits in the engine and cause them to do damage elsewhere in the system.

Counter balance, is the shaft on the other side, closest to radiator. Only time it doesn't matter if it's correctly aligned, is if you do Not have a balance shaft.
As for the oil, if you are doing a break in, use regular/dyno oil. After the break in, you can switch to synthetic blend or full synthetic.
As for coolant, use Peak or Prestone. In Nevada, specially desert, gets really hot, so a 50/50 solution would work great. Prestone sells a yellowish/green coolant, that can be mixed with any other coolant, well not sure if it can go with orange aka DexCool.

Personally I use 10W30/40 Castrol Syntec which is a synthetic blend. I've been happy with it.

On my last oil change I went to a shop that had a deal on oil changes; I'll never do that again. Since then my lifters have been ticking a lot. Can't wait to get Syntec back in.

I wouldn't recommend switching to a synthetic with that many miles unless that's what has been run previously. Synthetics have a tendency to find leaks on high mileage engines/gaskets. Your engine already has a lot of miles, synthetic oil isn't this miracle worker that's going to get you to 800k miles or something and regular oil is only going to net you 200k. It obviously has its benefits though.
At this point with the miles, any 10w-30 should work fine, the main thing is that you change it frequently. Regular engine oil today is far superior to what it was when these cars were manufactured anyways.
Homeless people used to piss and shit in the oil caps of the engines when being delivered on the trains to the factory.;)

I've been using 20w-50 dino oil for the past 20 years and it has seved me very well. When I upgraded my cams to HKS units I was surprised and very happy to see that the stock cams and head were extremely clean with almost no discoloration or signs of sludge or burned oil. Cam lobes were smooth with no scoring or noticeable wear in over 165,000 miles.

I've been tempted to use synthetics for all their positive attributes, but based on how my engine has held up and the cleanliness of the valve train, I will continue using dino oil.

As for coolant/anitfreeze, choose any name brand. They all perform similarly.
