ok so im mating a 1g engine to a 2g auto trans. i bought i flexplate adapter kit from ipt and spent like 325 bucks. the issuse/ problem im having is when i go to kiggly racing they show a flexplate that is completely different from the one i purchased. first off my kit didnt include the long dowels. and the flexplate looks like a normal stock flimsey one. the one i saw on kigglys was labeled as sfi 29.1. my question is. does it matter or did i get the wrong one. the one i have has 4 outter fins for the torque converter n 6 inner holes for the engine or whatever it is that the flywheel came off of. the one i saw on kiggleys looks way better and im curious if it makes a difference.. i had to hone out the holes a little bit on the outter fins so that the holes would line up for the converter. which right off the rip i felt funky about but since ipt told me i would have to i tryed not to think much of it.. i figure if i have to i can just buy the sfi flexplate off of extremepsi.com for 100 bucks.. but where can i get the longer dowels from? also i tryed using the one i already have and the bolts from the flywheel are too long.. any suggestions.. i could really use some help.. i been trying to get this car together for at least 4 months now and have spent close to 2k in stuff that i need. between parts and buying a tsi fwd for the swap im getting broke fast and frustrated faster.. any help would be greatly appreciated
