is there anywhere where i can get a flat hood, without the bubble on my 2g eclipse. i dont care weather its sheet metal, fiberglass or carbon fiber, i just want one thats smooth and flat.

Fill out your vehicle profile, we have no way of knowing what engine you have in your car. With a 4g63 I don't think you could have a flat hood, it would probably hit the timing cover.

I have never seen a flat hood for 4g63 eclipses. The bump in the hood is made for the timing belt cover.

Besides, the bump is sexy!

Either your going to need to get a hood like DGajre777 and have the whole hood come up together. Im just wondering as well why you may want to get rid of the bump? It makes our cars stand out, and I believe only DSMs have that kind of bubble.

The only remotely flat hood available for the 2G is a Predator Hood from Aerogear. However, it has "vents" in it. As stated, the hump is for the TB cover on the 4G63T. If you do go with the Predator hood it will require a little work from a body shop and the removal of the top TB cover in order for it to fit. I have one in my garage but haven't installed it yet, I've just been concentrating on the power adders.

Modifications required, and a picture at post #11.

Be very careful if you attempt this hood, it rides very close to the exposed TB and could potentially tear up a TB and destroy a head. There is a reason Aerogear has a disclaimer "that this hood DOES NOT fit a turbo model", even though it's been done, you do it AT YOUR OWN RISK!

With all that said, I will eventually get this hood on my car.

This one is also relatively flat and it has a big bubble like my hood. Carbon Creations and Extreme Dimensions sell this hood. It is called a Vader hood. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=200026 I personally like this one more than the one I have now. It looks so much cleaner.

Wow that hood is sexy^^^ if or when I get a 97 style 2G Id put that Vader on it...or DGajre777s...its pretty good looking too.

I used to hate the bubble on dsm's, but a little after I got mine, the bubble started to grow on me. Looks pretty sexy, hahah. But yea, if really don't want it, then you're gonna have to get an aftermarket-style hood.

I think the Seibon EVO Hood clears the cover too.

I love the bubble, adds character to the car. Everyone always asks me if thats where the turbo is LOL. I just say yes must of the time to avoid a stupid conversation.

Other cars have had power bulges, notably the Opel GT. I can remember as a kid, my dad stopped and oggled one of these. I remember thinking, "Wow, they couldn't fit the engine in there and had to make a hump in the hood."
