I haven't touched my buffing wheel in many many years.
I'm currently doing a A/T to M/T conversion, and since my car is down I figured I would go through my engine bay and clean some parts up in the process. It is slowing progress down and costing more money, but I want everything to look good when I'm done. I don't want it to look like a slapdash effort.
I was bored today so I started cleaning up the bare aluminum on the transmission mount to get it ready for paint. One thing led to another and I started to polish it on the buffer. Used two different polishes. One as a base and get the metal to look good and find any flaws (still has a bunch), but then I used the finer polish and buffed it to a nice shine! It has little casting flaws that I tried to get out by sanding, but it wasn’t worth my time. It’s a tranny mount that is tucked in the engine bay. After I cleaned off all the buffing compound I put in my new black Prothane insert.
I got more pictures coming of more things that are getting cleaned up.

Good god man, your my new best friend. Can't wait to move to CO. I'll powder coat some stuff for ya if you'll polish some crap of mine!

Gotta get myself a good buffer. :( Maybe I'll buy myself a gift or two this year. ;)

I just watched a buddy of mine polish the frame on his bike for 4 days at school. Looked like a pain in the rear. Nice job, I don't have that kind of patience so I usually just paint stuff, LOL.

If you did this to just a motor mount I don't wanna see the rest of your engine bay once you're finished.

I don't really want to over do it. My plater can't plate aluminum parts so I thought I would at least polish them. I'm getting a few more stuff plated now at the platers. I've been waiting for 4 weeks!

There is a whole lot of plater in that reply.

Nice work too, looks really nice.

Lol I'm in Iowa on Christmas vacation. Being in AZ sucks...no season change, nowhere to ski or snowboard. Big fan of the cold and snow.

Then it is settled, Battle of the Chains next year. I won't have one, but I am willing to judge. :D

I personally would like to see you wear the Colt around your neck. OMG

I crashed the colt. It is a peice of shit still

Trust me, you can.

Dear Mikeh,
Random move to Colorado to live with random girl.... bad idea to begin with. If I could find you I would :beatentodeath: all over yo bitchass :)

Bart, I dont understand why you thought it would be funny to hit that Accord after it destroyed you in that race.

Nice work Gordon.:D
