I haven't touched my buffing wheel in many many years.
I'm currently doing a A/T to M/T conversion, and since my car is down I figured I would go through my engine bay and clean some parts up in the process. It is slowing progress down and costing more money, but I want everything to look good when I'm done. I don't want it to look like a slapdash effort.
I was bored today so I started cleaning up the bare aluminum on the transmission mount to get it ready for paint. One thing led to another and I started to polish it on the buffer. Used two different polishes. One as a base and get the metal to look good and find any flaws (still has a bunch), but then I used the finer polish and buffed it to a nice shine! It has little casting flaws that I tried to get out by sanding, but it wasnt worth my time. Its a tranny mount that is tucked in the engine bay. After I cleaned off all the buffing compound I put in my new black Prothane insert.
I got more pictures coming of more things that are getting cleaned up.

Looks awesome!
Maybe I'll buy myself a gift or two this year.
