Hello,

I recently purchased a heavily modified 1G with ECMLink V3 running Speed Density. However, it is running very rich and will barely start or stay running due to the plugs fouling almost instantly. I've pretty much narrowed the issue down to Speed Density not being setup correctly by the previous owner. I have a little bit of experience working with ECMLink on my 2G, but have never delved into Speed Density before this.

The VE table that is on the ECU right now was setup by the previous owner, and I don't believe he used the SD VE Adjust (SDRatio) tool. With that being said, I'm assuming the VE table is completely wrong and most likely the cause for my running rich and subsequent no-start issue.

I'm going to reset the ECU to default settings and start completely from scratch in setting everything up, and building an initial VE table. I plan to use the SD VE Adjust (SDRatio) tool to do this. So I'm going to setup the car to use a 2G MAF I have laying around.

I have two questions:

-When I set the car up with a MAF in conjunction with the new MAP sensor wired to the ECU in order to use the SD VE Adjust (SDRatio) tool, does everything need to be recirculated like in a car running JUST a MAF (BOV, Crankcase vent from valve cover, and boost controller dump)? Or is that not necessary?

-In my research, I keep reading about an initial standard VE table that can be used as a starting point to get a new SD setup to start and idle. Where does this table come from? Does it have to be pre-loaded onto the ECU when it ships from ECMLink? Or do I just need to copy the values into my personal VE table from this link:

I've done a decent amount of research into all of this prior to posting here since I bought the car, but still remain unsure on these two points. Thank you for any and all help.

Question #1 - yes you need to reciruculate the bov and VC breather tube to the intake.

#2 - you can download the log from the link you posted, open it on your pc, connect to the car, go to the stock ve table and hit "save to ecu"

We could help more if you share a log and fill out your vehicle profile information.

Ok, thank you for the info. I just filled out a vehicle profile for the 1G in question. I don’t have any logs yet due to only getting the car started once to get it moved onto a trailer, but will post logs in the future. Thanks again
