First time..

Well, I went up to our drag strip here in Norwalk, OH..
I've never gotten on my car before, I take care of her like my life depended on it, and yeah, it was pretty scary..
I drive a '91 TSi FWD, not to mention the boot is ripped and my master cylinder needs to be replaced really soon, so I shouldn't have done it in the first place.
But my best time was 15.6 @ 91 mph. I guess it's not TOO bad for my first time, but no one told me how to do it and what not.
Just wondering if any of you could help me out a bit for next time I'm up there? I've been reading, but since mines FWD would that make a difference, and is there anything else I should know?

15.6 aint too bad for a first time on a stock fwd turbo.

I took my old FWD Turbo Laser to Dragway 42, and I managed a 15.02 with just 15psi boost and a hard uicp. Think my best 60 foot time was a 2.5 .

Just learn the sweet spot between spinning your tires and getting a solid launch. Careful not to spin em going into second either. I had to keep it at about 3/4 throttle in first, and had to ease into second a bit.

The more you go the better hang of it you'll get. Try going to Dragway 42, its not as nice of a track, but its cheaper, and if you want you could get 10+ passes in.

You are stoked...I AM STOKED! The thought of the Shootout never leaves my mind. I should get on Nick to start this years thread. I'm not setting my goals too high, I just want to run. Bracket 1 this year. Hope I last.
