So wedesday i am going to track for the first time. I was wondering what should i do to get ready. O and i am also going to race this b18 crx. So if you have some notes let me have it. Thanks

Although you may be asking more what you should do to your car, this link has some good info for beginners:
Drag Racing 101

My pet peeve:

People who pull all the way up to the stage position without waiting for their opponent to pre-stage first.

+1 pay close attention to the staging area. Whenever your opponent is doing a burnout to warm the tires and you pull up it gives them like 2 seconds or so to get staged and set before the tree drops. Uber ### when some idiot in an 18 sec auto car pulls up when your trying to stage.

Since your not awd just focus on your luanch and 60ft times instead of the overall time. Figuring out how to HOOK and how your car handles at each track will benefit you more in the future :)

so dont worry about time just luanch what rpm would you say i so have 17inch rims on my car

I assume your going to Moroso in West Palm? I wish I could drive that far, but would rather goto the 1/8th at Countyline, wouldnt mind trailoring her up there tho! Good luck I've never been to the track either...

i am running 16psi and why unbolt the o2 and i am going to the gainesville raceway

Unbolting the o2 will really free up some exhaust restriction, possibly up to a .5 sec. gain. Test it out on the street first though because you have a possibility of boost-creep with it unbolted and you want to make sure that you don't hit fuel cut.

Make sure you do a boost leak test today, lower your tire pressure, and remember to go on the last yellow light, if you wait till the green, you'll launch way too late. Is the honda turbo'd? If not you will mop the floor with him.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

no it not turbo but i just aittle sacred cause its my first time at a track. I have race before from a roll and dig but its different this time you know.

Most important thing you can do is spend a little time watching that guys that direct you through. Look to see what hand signals they use, and know what is expected of you when you get to the box. This way when you get up there, and the adrenaline is pumping, you have a good idea what your doing.

well i have done everything you goes told me to do. Hey if i hit 12 man i going to be sooooooooooo happy. I have even put my intercooler in the colder jk some guy told me to do that LOL but i just want to beat the honda and get in the 13's

Does that crx have a b18c or b18b..? big difference.. A gutted, slightly modded b18c crx can easily hit mid to low 13's on slicks, power to weight ratio... Either way i hope you spank that honda and goodluck to you sir...

i shooting for high 13's but my friend said it a 14 sec car he had a dsm but i just think i can do it.

So i am back from my first race night. You can make fun of me its ok. I am car 12 in on the paper. I will tell you the top 3. My first run was 1/4 15.501 next was 15.379 and then15.315 after this my stock clucth went to hell i ran 15.78, 19.00 then 17.98. I tried. My friend told me get the 2600 act kit then we will be talking and some 650. I wish i could have done better. o number 11 is the honda.

Atleast you ran down the Honda no problem :) Don't get discouraged, the practice is whats gonna make you good.

yea i going out there everytime i get to but what do you see need work cause my top end i think is on avg 95 i just wish i can get off the line faster.

Your 60' times are pretty bad in all honesty, you can run like a 2.2 or so with a pretty decent amount of work. How is the car off the line? Are you bogging? Spinning? If you are still using the stock clutch thats bad news too, get a 2600 like your friend said. Even a 2100 will do you some good for a pretty decent amount of torque.
