After a good cleaning this morning, and a quick look over I found some rotted vacuum lines. I decided to pull a spark plug to see how it looked. 1,3,&4 looked fantastic. But #2 looked burnt. If I get time tomorrow after work I’m going to pull the rest and do a pressure test.

Welcome, as a new dsm owner as well, I would subject reading long and deep about everything 2g 4g63 related. Take another look at your motor, oil pan behind the crank pulley and your cas to see what motor you have. 6 or 7 bolt. Buy a timing belt kit and water pump and replace that. See if you have a balance shaft or not while there, research balance shafts.
And buy a hanyes repair manual or get the factory service manual online.

The oil in the pan looks in need of a change, but it was clean. No water or coolant in it. Under the oil cap looked burnt. Smelled like gas, so I’m guessing it’s valve stem seals. I’ll worry about all of that when I go to build the head way in the future. I used my brothers probe camera to look in the cylinders. Same situation. #2 looked like it was burning oil. I know of a few things I can do. I’m a GM tech by trade. It’s probably a 7 bolt it being a 99. Aren’t all 6 bolts in 1gs? Unless they have been swapped?
