Well I just parted out a 95 Talon TSi and put the engine into my 96 Talon TSi, both cars are AWD Automatic Turbo cars.
The 95 ran fine the transmission was just bad on it and the car was loaded with rust. The 96 had a spun bearing and had been sitting for a couple months outside.
So I put the long block from the 95 into the 96, removed the balance shafts, put new timing belt, fuel filter, injector O-rings, oil cap, and most gaskets.
Well the car starts up and rev's up to like 2500 rpm then settles down to about 1100 and it sounds fine. I tightened the idle screw to get the idle down to like 800. Whenever the idle is below 1100 the car starts to sputter till it almost dies then it kicks itself back up to 2500 rpm and does the sequence again. I had the injectors from the 96 in there, so I swapped them with the injectors from the 95 and no change in behavior, so I swapped the ECU's out and again no change in behavior.
The car has a narrow band O2 sensor that is reading one tick above all the way pegged to lean.
I am getting a code every other time I start it but I don't have any way of checking it.
Any suggestions?
Also under the center console on the same main harness that runs back to the Air Bag Computer there is a white clip with a ground wire off of it that is not plugged into anything. I don't see where it would possibly go. It has 16 wires running to it.
