I have a 1996 eagle talon base model and i'm wandering what would be good first mods. I need to get new shocks and i'm debating on the tokico hp or illumina. I have a new cold air intake and exhaust. What would be good mods if i'm planing on adding a turbo later? What else should i get to help with stability? Finally what are some small mods that will make my car faster without costing alot? If you could give me some idea on prices that would be awesome also.

THX:)

Well the first mod would be to post a "For sale" sign in the window. Then buy a 4g63 then its all history from there. =) Maintain the car. There will be 500 people after this post telling you about maintance. It is very important.

Yeah what he said. Ohh what the hell. MAITINENCE!!!!JK, but not really. If you plan on going turbo later, start with fuel. Get some large injectors (above 550CC) and a Walboro 255. Ohh and sorry about me not knowing how to spell, so i apoligize.

Or sell it and get a 4g63. That would be the best option, but it's your choice.

He was asking so we told him sorry!!! Maybe our friend should have searched 1st, but he didnt.

Im pretty sure he didn't ask "What car should I get?". He asked "What mods should I do." A new car isn't a mod sorry. Its funny because both of those posts violated the rules and you didn't answer any of his questions.

A good thing to do if you plan on adding turbo would be to buy a spare block and build it outside the car with forged internals (if this is your DD). I wouldn't really do many mods to the car if you are going to add turbo because:
a) Not all mods can be used after turbo'd
b)You won't really notice any power difference from boltons.

Your best bet for fast, cheap, and safe hp would be a 50-75 wet shot kit. You can probably find one for around $350-500, and assuming your engine is in good condition you will be fine. But if you really want to turbo just save your money until you can afford a kit. You will be able to get there faster if you don't bother with the useless mods. You'll want a forged motor so you can push more than 8-10psi (which is about the stock bottom end limit).

Half of the people who tell you to sell your car and buy a 4g63 are the people that are still running 14's and aren't even going much faster than stock so just ignore them. Just because they own a 4g doesn't mean its fast.

I'll be one to also give a non ignorant post....

First thing, which seems you're taking care of, fix what's broken. Do your struts, check your mounts, do the bushings, make it ride nice and smooth if that's a problem right now. Also, check your ball joints, they can become a nightmare if not checked.
The next thing is still part of your basic maintenance, but you can still make it part of an upgrade, by doing plugs and wires. Honestly, not much of a gain, at all, but every little bit does help with these cars. Make sure to get an NGK plug, and even wires, or go with something like the MSD one's.

You have the CAI, you have the exhaust, what I have on mine, as well as those two things is a Magnaflow high flow cat and DC header, both provided actually a pretty noticeable difference.(no, I don't mean turbo or nitrous difference, but a nice little gain). From there, depending on your mechanical knowledge, I'd look into an Underdrive Pulley, and possibly throttle body and spacer. The UDP is my next thing going on my car, and I've never actually heard of anyone with a bigger throttle body on a n/t, but every little bit of air helps.

Make sure your general maintenance is kept up on, whoever owned my car before me didn't care about it, and I suffered(luckily for the other guy), but this HAS to be your first priority. Check belts, hoses, fuel filter, pcv valve, and anything you can think of, if you second guess it, replace it. I hope that all helps! =)

I didn't relize the N/T guys got so defensive. Having owned a crx si, I can say that there isn't much you can do on a na car that is really worth the money. A good clutch and light weight flywheel will make a difference, then some nitrous if that's your thing. I personnely don't use it. You could also get an AFC and wideband and lean it out. These mods will also help if you do turbo it because they are all supporting mods. All my opinion.:thumb::laser:

I'm still slightly confused. Is the ecu setup this way, I have seen tons of na cars run AFC's both maf'd and air speed density. Does this mean that the 420a neons can't use AFC's. This sounds like a huge tuning hassel. You guys are more of a man than me!!!WTF:laser:
