This is the first Log I have taken just at cruise no WOT because I do not have a Wideband yet. Honestly I am new to this and been doing nothing but reading and reading on everything but I just wanted to get some input on how this Log looks and what its showing because I am still learning. Thanks

Setup:
Big 16g (set around 12-15)
550cc Injectors
Stock Fuel Pump still (have 255 but need to get a AFPR yet)

I guess I'm not understand what you mean by more logged values?? I read all the stickys in here two or three times and I guess I am just missing it  Again I'm sorry, I'm not trying to make enemies on here.

I can't personally read your log, but when you log values, you are recording different sensor information. You need to log iat, battery voltage, inj duty cycle, o2, coolant temp, rpm, tps, pulse width, knock or timing. That's what you need to tune with. Anything less, your guessing

This is the specific sticky in regards to logged values.

For example, on that list under a few categories is CombinedFT and ThrotPos. When I open your log, these values are not captured, so I have no idea what is going on in regards to those two values. There's a bunch of them that you should add to your captured and displayed values lists. You would have learned about this if you checked out all the videos in step 12 of this sticky ;)

Ok I think I have all the values on there now, and watched all the videos. I did a log with the car fully warmed up just at idle. Ill do another cruise tonight in a little bit but I just wanted to see how this all looked. I can see the est. A/F is a bit high which would mean I am running more lean correct?

Yes, the higher the number in AFRatioEst, the leaner you are running. Since you said you watched all 8 videos, I'm surprised to see your CombinedFT value so high. Video 8 showed you how to correct this :)

Also, you can go into the DTC tab and uncheck the box associated with the MDP to get rid of that DTC (and possibly the CEL, if there is one).

Yea I know it shows how to adjust that I just didn't do it yet. I don't have a CEL for the MDP code so I will uncheck that and clear the code awhile. Just to be sure, I can make those adjustments to correct the CombinedFT with the engine running correct?

Ok so I adjusted the Deadtime of the injectors and now the CombFT is bouncing around 1 to at times about 3 max. The deadtime is set at 315, I have 550cc Injectors with the global set at -18.8. I know I read in a Wiki or online somewhere that 180 was a good deadtime for 550cc injectors but I know all cars are different. So does that sound like an acceptable place for it to be? I noticed that the est. A/F did came down to about 14.8 to 15.1:1

I'm sorry if I'm sounding like a complete noob but I really I am and I really appreciate that help. My first DSM I didnt have link.

The wiki numbers are just starting points - not final numbers by any means. Since you have CombinedFT around 0%, then you're dialed in at whatever deadtime value it took.

Now you can start working on cruise tuning. My preferred way is to pick a few choice speeds you might be cruising at (35, 50, 70-80) and hold it steady at that speed for at least 30 seconds. Then evaluate the log and see what MAF Hz value you're using and adjust as necessary. Or you can just drive around for a while and use ECMlink's built-in tool to adjust - http://www.dsmlink.com/wiki/v3mafadjcombft

Ok gotcha, then I should have the idle pretty much dialed in with the injectors deadtime. I did notice however that after doing that that INTTemp went up to about 90...it was lower prior to doing that, does that sound normal? Too high?

If you highlight the whole log (click and drag on the log from left to right) and then right click on it and select MAFComp Adjust (CombinedFT), you'll see that it populates some adjustments for you. This is the tool I mentioned above and linked you to. I'd start with those adjustments and see how it goes. Most likely you won't notice too much of an improvement, especially since you don't have a wideband to monitor actual AFR's while cruising.

Ok, yea I see how to do that. But based on that the car should be ok to drive correct? I'm not going to be doing any WOT because of the lack of a wideband at this point and I know the A/F is estimated. Also sometimes the CombFT will go negative that would that mean that the mixture is going on the richer side?

Yes, the car will be fine to drive on with or without those changes. But if the program is suggesting you make them, then I'd go for it. You can always repeat the process later on to see if things have changed/settled.

You' can check the AFRatioEst at the point of CombinedFT going one way or the other to see if it's rich or lean.
