Swapped to e85 last night. Fuel mods are Wal 255, 8an feed, AEM 1000 filter, FIC 750cc, AEM Rail, Aero FPR, stock return.

So far ive only changed global/deadtime to dial in idle and cruise. I used .670 x 750 = 503cc which is around a 10% global. My deadtime had to be dropped all the way to 0 to attain 0% combft, is this correct? My AFPR also wants to stay at around 25 now, vs 28-29 on pump gas.

Everything runs and drives great and she pulls awesome (for now) but I havent touched by timing/fuel DA maps yet. Cruise is getting there, so I punched it a few times and found outs its SUPER rich compared to pump. WHere I was running 11.0:1 on pump, im now dipping into full rich past 5000 RPM.

Is this to be expected? I will be going in later when it cools down to tune WOT. Going to use the wbfactor tool and aim for 12.0 at WOT.

Does anyone have a good fuel map they can email me? How should I go about leaning out WOT?

Where should I go from here? <3

Edit: Crap, it says the log is too big to be posted here on tuners :/ I have it posted up on ecmtuning's forums, or I can email.

Just clip to a decent sized section, hit save as, give it a funny name, and try it again.

Fk. Laptop just died and the charger is elsewhere. Grrr, I need wot ready for TONIGHT.

Hmm.

Get a freakin ecmtuning account already! :p

Heres the log.

The first thing I'd do is figure out the AFPR issue. With 750's on E85 at 25psi base pressure, your flowing +17.5, so 17.5% less than stock. The 750's are already going to get used up really quick at stock pressure, they won't go anywhere with fuel pressure that low.

Then I would get the AFR and AFREst to line up. Once you do that, you can simply edit the DA table to change the AFR. However, after you get the MAF dialed in I would double check your trims and adjust the injectors accordingly. Here's a great how-to on the MAF adjustments:

Persoanlly, I base all my E85 tunes off the Evo GSR tune. You'll still need to lean it out a little and add timing in some spots, but you should be around 11-11.5 right out of the box with that map.

Woot! Those maps are golden, and I thank you sir.

My airflow per rev is coming back up to 26-27 with adjustment and fuel trims are grand. I have wot out to 11.5, just working on boost curve now.

I freaking love E85 man. Link shows an increase of 40 hp on average from precious tuning.

No problem. Just be sure to keep an eye on injector duty. They always run out quicker than you expect. :thumb:

This!!

Im not able to look at the logs at the moment. But Wes is right. On 93 with my 255 and 1000s at ~26psi I was seeing about 75% idc. Switched to E85, same boost level, log showed about 87% or something. I was like shit, now I need to spend more monies!! Keep an eye on them

OP - You sound very ambitious, which is both good and bad. (I'm a bit concerned that you haven't even learned how to get the basics dialed in and you were trying to get "WOT ready for TONIGHT"). :)

E85 is awesome stuff, but it's also more dangerous for someone new to tuning. It rarely knocks; the first sign that your tune is overly agressive is most likely going to be clanking sounds coming from the engine compartment. You have to pay very close attention to your AFR's and torque output, and work up to a strong tune in increments, as you get more knowledge on how your setup works with it.

BTW, an old skool EGT sensor comes in pretty handy for E85 as well. Since most people tend to think that you can lean out E85 to the moon and run crazy timing, an EGT will tell you when you are getting dangerously close to melting something...like a turbine shaft for example. ;)

Thanks for all advice, its all been taken into account.

Youre right about the tq though.. I have to stay out of it in 1st/2nd or im going to start breaking stuff.

Ive dialed in a few WOT tunes on pump gas and compared to e85, its night and day. Im targeting 12.5 at WOT right now, and am a little rich (12.2-3:1) and still on the same timing maps as pump, havent touched those yet. Still on 18 lbs of boost. Best part is im getting zero knock.. no matter what I throw at it.

Since then my idle/cruise has been dialed in and WOT is doing the job for now. Hard to street tune when youre going 100 mph at the top of 3rd. I will you I have spanked on a V6 accord w/ 75 shot whose making 300whp+, a brand new WRX, Mustang GT, 370z... all in the past few days and nothing came close. I freakin love this fuel.

My est HP in link on pump 93 was never over 260-270s, now its 350... with ZERO knock. I love it. Here ill post a log to let you guys know where im at.

My target AFRs are not accurate. I need to go in on the timing table and match them to actual AFRs because actual AFRs are pretty close to what im actually aiming for.

THis is a 1st/2nd gear pull. Rev'd out to 6500 spinning the whole way.

You are now on E85, you are not tuning based off knock anymore, keep that in mind. Your parameters are good for 18psi. but when you start turning it up don't keep leaning out or adding timing until you see knock because by then the only knock that'll be picked up is the sounds of metal chunks flying around in the engine:hellyeah:

So where do you recommend I go from here? Get my actual AFRs down to match my AFR est, then go back in on the DA tables to lean it back out to where my actual AFRs are now?

Also, did anyone look at my fuel maps? Anything look out of the ordinary or do I have a good base going? I'm going to go out tonight and match my AFRs to those DA tables so I need to know if they're even worth working with or if i should start over. Wed recommended evo 8 GSR timing/fuel maps as a good base tunec I compared the two and it seems equally aggressive on the timing side, but more rich on the fuel side and the map looks wayyy different in color/shape than my current map.

Okay I took the EVO GSR fuel and timing maps and started completely over with WOT. I have it all dialed in, my AFR est matches my actual AFR. Initially I set it up at 11.5:1 at WOT while I smoothed out the timing table. Everything smoothed over so I slowly started to lean and adjust timing where needed.

I am now at 12.5:1 at WOT but mainly only up top (5500-7000). I am wondering if this is correct, as I havent changed much besides the giant bottom right chunk in the fuel table. I grabbed everything and raised it until the bottom right cell said 12.5. Should I go in and lean out spool up too? It seems as if the car's potential is not being reached. Both during spool up and at full boost. My old tune felt a LOT faster than this one, but that doesnt make sense as the timing being run now (High Teens Low Twentys) is pretty damn close to as aggressive as what I was running prior... if that makes sense. One thing in mind is maybe the 2g maps are meaner up top, and the GSR maps give a more consistent form of power all the way through the gear. Either way I really missed that raped ape pull my car was giving up top before I retuned. It is still running great and pulling hard, just seems like on my old timing, when I was seeing 12.5 that thing was hauling ASS! Now its feeling like the power is there ready to be unleashed, its just not putting it all to use... I would rather not keep increasing timing, because its high teens low twentys but if you guys think I should, I will try it.

I took everything you guys said into account with this tune. Its dialed in pretty much spot on. My WB factor hovers around 0% all the way through WOT. Idle/Cruise are nice and dialed in.

Anyone have smoothed 1g maps on hand?
