Fires but won't run

I've got a '95 Talon TSi that I've rebuilt the engine 1,000 miles ago. The car just decided one day that it will not start. When I turn the key, you hear it fire, but it just won't start. It does seem to fire more with more gas.

All the starting components are fine, Compression read 150's all the way across, my spark plugs are covered with gas, and I've got a new coil pack, wires, plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter, injectors, and throttle body. I also unhooked the exhaust before the cat because I had thought that might have been a problem.

Any idea of any other issue I could address that would prevent the car from starting?

Ok you said that your plugs were covered in gas. If they are covered in gas this means they are not igniting. Physically take the spark plug and lay it on the valve cover and see if it sparks, be careful if it has gas on it then it tends to go boom. Then you will know where your problem is, im guessing one of your ignition components bit the bullet or came unplugged.

*edit* oh and just because parts are new doesnt mean they work =)

Yeah, I know what you mean about new parts. But I also swapped the plugs, wires and coil pack out with other ones I had laying around that I know worked, and didn't make a difference. I will try the valve cover thing though.

And the crank and cam sensors should work because they are brand new, and it hasn't given me a CEL.

Would a bad FPR keep it from running?

Just got back from my garage, and the plugs for cylinders 1 and 2 are sparking like they should. Cylinder 3 had a weak spark, and cylinder 4 had no spark. I changed out the plugs in 3 and 4 and ended up with weak spark on both of them. I changed out the wires on both of them to yield no beneficial results.

Does this sound like a coil problem? I tried another coil pack beforehand, and it didn't help matters.

Does the crank sensor determine the spark of cylinders 3 and 4?

Im getting the same problem and i think its the starter relay, but my problem its that i burnt my alternator...

It was infact the crank sensor that was bad, so I got that in. The car fired up and idled roughly, so now I have another problem to find. The only think I replaced other than the sensor was the throttle body and the coolant temp sensor. Now the car hardly idles and most of the time dies after a few seconds. If I open up the throttle at all it dies. I put my original throttle body back on, and it didn't change anything. My timing marks are dead on. The only think I wasn't sure was if the balance shafts were in phase. The marks lineup, but I read that you are supposed to use a screwdriver or something to make sure it's in phase with everything. Any ideas why my car won't function correctly?

Well I've replaced a cam sensor, but not a crank sensor.
However, if they are very close to being the same, then they have tracks, and the can be rotated partially when loose, and this helps ECU determine timing.
