I race a 1990 Eagle Talon N/A in rally. At the last event we made it to service and when we went to leave the car wouldn't start. We were told that the ECU may be bad so we sent it in and the capacitors was bad so we got a new ECU put in in the car and it still won't start. We have been told that it could be a idle control valve or the CAS. I guess what I am wondering is what other people would think it is. The car does have spark but won't fire. It is also pumping fuel up to the fuel rail as did take the line off to make sure it was pumping. Any help would be great. Thank You

As we discussed, I'd look at the Engine Coolant Temp sensor and make sure it's still connected since it will drown the cylinders with fuel when it thinks it's -37F. Check the normal stuff like compression just to be sure nothing bad happened. Pull the plugs and make sure they aren't covered in fuel or fouled.

The injectors are squiting gas. We installed a new coolant temp sensor which did not solve the problem. I have not had a chance to check compression.

#1Cyl=0psi
#2Cyl=60psi
#3Cyl=110psi
#4Cyl=91psi

Well there is something wrong witht the #1 cyl for sure. The wierd thing is that the engine isn't making any wierd noices. So I don't get it. The car was running fine one minute and didn't the next. Any thoughts would be great.

Yea thats what i was thinking. But you would think you would still have some kind of compression.

Not if the valves bounced off the pistons and bent one or more. You can range from a slight leak to it won't close depending on how hard they kissed.

There are other possibilities like burnt valves, cracked piston ring lands, or a blown head gasket that might cause something like this without jumping time.
