Keep this thread about the product itself and how it works. Any buying/selling questions should go via PM or I will have to lock this.

I decided that I am going to post a vid showing the ease of installation as well as the before and after performance. I have actually redesigned the unit and made it Extremely simple. I mean simple! I am going to try this new unit on my car. I may just go ahead and attempt to VFAQ this. It would sort be like my way of giving back to the DSM community :thumb:
:thumb: VFaq... Even better.

If this is a thread explaining to the users how to perform this mod, we'll allow this thread to go on. If you're going to come out and say "you can buy one for $50", let me know so I can close it now.

Post a vfaq about it in our Tech Article section once you've tested it and find that it works - that is, if you aren't trying to sell them.

I will post the results good or bad with the simpler unit. If this works, I will just VFAQ it. Basically, it just repositions where the lever attaches to the wastegate arm. The only issue I forsee with this unit is that it may not have enough lever-action to hold the door shut under high-boost resulting in poor spool-up time. I'm currently in the middle of rebuilding my car, so it will be a few weeks until the motor is fully broke-in and I can run some tests. Is anybody local in Southern California who would be willing to try it out before then?

could you give me a rough sketch of how it works.
i am also a engineer...well at lest in school for one. i graduat this year. i have just got a inturn ship at a CNC company and i could try to see if i can pull some strings to get a clean looking prototype built for you.
if posible a autoCAD or an Inventor or Proengineer drawing that would be perfact.
if not than a rough blue print with acurate dimentions.

i can't garentee that i can do this because i just started and have not bult up a solid relation ship with the ownr yet. but i promis i won't steel your idea if you are worried about that.

i could also send you a good plot of it.

some schematics would be nice, even a rough hand drawing to illustrate the theory of operation

i'm guessing with my $260 external wastegate setup (wastegate off ebay for $160 and fabrication for $100) this would be useless to me

I currently have a little over 200 miles on my break-in period. At around 500 miles I'll let 'er loose a few times. I should have some updates then, probably in a week or so.

Update:

I've been slowly breaking-in my new engine and clutch for a little over 300 miles now. I've been taking it easy on the car. Believe me, it hasn't been easy restraining myself. I finally cracked yesterday and went WOT in 2nd for a quick blast. First impression is rock solid boost at 16psi. I tried to back all the way off the boost controller to see how low I can take the boost. Again, a quick blast through 2nd let the boost rise from 12psi to 16psi to were it stayed.

So basically, before I couldn't run anything less than 19-20psi with my mods. A first quick test indicates I can now run as low as 16psi w/ this much simpler boost creep fix installed.

Once I hit the 500 mile mark on the new engine I will definately let the car loose and provide a more conclusive update.

No issues so far. Holds rock-steady boost at a low 16psi in all gears. No side effects either such as slower spool or lack of power. 16psi is the lowest that it will hold. If I turn it down anymore it just creeps back to 16 psi. I am really impressed that this simple idea has proved to be so effective! I think I can make a few minor adjustments to get it to hold even lower boost. However, I don't really see the point to run lower than 16 psi on any upgraded turbo. I'll post either a pic or sketch in the near future. It will take some machine work to make the part on your own, but if you have access to a decent machine shop then be my guest and make one.

If you don't have access to a machine shop, I will be selling these for $25.
You were warned by Chris and John.

Bye-bye thread.
