I greatly reduced my boost creep by the addition of a small solenoid valve and I thought I would share this w/ you guys. If you are using a MBC like me w/ a 16g then you know how bad the creep can be. Even on my stock downpipe I would set the mbc to 15 psi but it would creep to 20+. I figured that the whole reason boost creep occurs is because the wastegate doesn't open fast enough at the set boost. In first gear, creep is not a major issue, but in third the creep is unbearbale. So to allow me to use third gear, I decided to install a boost reference line that bypasses the mbc and connects to the wastegate. Here's how it works: When I shift hard into third (racing) the shifter makes contact w/ a switch that I mounted. This switch opens a solenoid on the mbc bypass line allowing the boost to open the wastegate at 12psi (lowest boost setting). Being that I'm in third gear, boost is nearly instant and only stays at 12 psi for a split second and then creeps to 17-18psi by 5.5K RPM and stays constant until redline, which is right where i want my boost to be.

The only problem I would see with that would be that it would already be on its way to creeping, even when it switches to a lower boost setting. Boost creep is not really a vac line issue. Its more a "your wg area cant flow enough" to keep the boost at a resonable level.

For those who like to make your own stuff.....a chevy v8 1.5 inch exhaust valve works wonders too for a wastegate flapper;)

It's like a dual stage manual boost controller. When he hits 3rd gear it just jumps to a lower boost setting, but still creeps just as bad as in 2nd. With the boost set lower the creep doesn't seem as bad. Pretty cool idea. Way to use your head :thumb: A 34mm flapper will get rid of that creep though. When I had my stock DP on with my 16G, 34mm flapper, and stock o2 housing... I had no creep at all.

well thats great and all but if you want to be around 17-18 psi and your only getting to your goal at 5.5K then y not just buy a t-66 or something, becuase for me if i wanted 17-18 pounds as my goal i want it between 3-4K to maximise the power band.. i can understand y it helps you out becuase you are FWD and yes ive owned a TSI before and 17 lbs in 2nd gear will spin you well into 3rd. but ive solved my creeping issue when i hogged the crap outta my 02 housing and wastegate passages. When i get on it and i get solid 16 psi in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. the only difference is i get my 16 psi at 3100 rpm all the way to redline :p
