I greatly reduced my boost creep by the addition of a small solenoid valve and I thought I would share this w/ you guys. If you are using a MBC like me w/ a 16g then you know how bad the creep can be. Even on my stock downpipe I would set the mbc to 15 psi but it would creep to 20+. I figured that the whole reason boost creep occurs is because the wastegate doesn't open fast enough at the set boost. In first gear, creep is not a major issue, but in third the creep is unbearbale. So to allow me to use third gear, I decided to install a boost reference line that bypasses the mbc and connects to the wastegate. Here's how it works: When I shift hard into third (racing) the shifter makes contact w/ a switch that I mounted. This switch opens a solenoid on the mbc bypass line allowing the boost to open the wastegate at 12psi (lowest boost setting). Being that I'm in third gear, boost is nearly instant and only stays at 12 psi for a split second and then creeps to 17-18psi by 5.5K RPM and stays constant until redline, which is right where i want my boost to be.
