What is required to run a set of 1550cc FIC Blue Max injectors. These are low z injectors and if i am understanding right the stock ones are high z. So is there a driver required or something else?

You may need a driver to run these. Not all cars are the same. Some work some don't. I ran the 1450's and had nothing BUT issues with them. I made the switch over to the high Z and haven't looked back.

The high Z's are a much better injector as well worth every penny.

I have link to tune them, i hope they will work out.

nikkeebabee what issues were you having?

I run link as well.

The car would cold start just fine but if it ran more then 10 minutes or so the car wouldnt start hot. It would have to cool before it would fire again. They took ALOT and I mean ALOT of deadtime to get to run correctly. But still had the hot start. I tried it with both 93 and E85 E85 seemed to help a little but couldnt correct the issue. Once I switched over to the HighZ's it was game on and the car ran mint. No more hot start issue.

I spoke with Jens at FIC and he said it is an issue in some cars. And the larger the injectors the bigger the issues. You need some type of driver behind them or switch to the high Z's. the high z's to me are the better choice as they are even larger, eliminate the resistor pack which takes another item out of the equation to fail and become a problem.

I highly reccommend them...

Where is the resistor pack at you have to remove to run the FIC BLUE MAX 1680 high z injectors located at? These things aren't cheap that's for sure, almost double the price of low z. I'm stuck as to which ones to buy. Also i will have to check with my race gas supplier to make sure the fuel i run isn't oxygenated as these don't allow for that.

E85 when i can get to one station that has it, will be on 93 most of the time, but also use sunoco 116.

Here are the Sunoco Fuel Charts...

These charts show the oxygen content or lack of in each of the fuels...

yup 3 tunes. I have used the 112 supreme and the 116 maximal, good to know they aren't oxygenated. Well that makes the high z injectors look a little better, except for price, but i won't mind paying extra if the car will run better. So all I will have to do is unplug the resistors from the firewall and i'm done? Or do i have to do something else as well.

Not to revive and all but I am having the EXACT same issues. It takes ridiculous amounts of deadtime on my 1350s to get a rich idle (11-12.5) and on hot starts I have to blip the throttle like a damn carbureted v8. Also don't agree with very light throttle. I thought it was my maf curve but no matter what changes I make the problem still persists.considering doing the diy injector driver. Anyone think it will help?

Every car is different. Blue max already require alot of deadtime. I've went up to 1000 just to get a steady idle. But that's very rich too.

I'm a little surprised this thread has been dormant for so long. Well my car is going through pretty much the same thing nikkeebabee's car was. I'm also running 1650's and after 45 minutes to an hour of use if I turn the car off it won't restart until about after 30 minutes (annoying as ####) :notgood:. So I purchased some Bosch 1680cc High Impedance fuel injectors and I'm currently waiting on a plug and play High-Z Injector Resistor Pack Bypass made by SpoolinUp so I can do the swap. I'm assuming and hoping this will solve the hot start issue along with being less of a strain on my charging system. Hopefully in the next few days I'll be posting a positive result from the swap. Oh and keep an eye out for some FIC 1650's for sale :p.

If the Bosch 1680cc injectors are anything like they used to be (and they are), they are junk. They tend to swell...which you definitely don't want. Might as well have gone with 2200's!
