Extremepsi.com sells FIC 650/750/850 all at the same cost.

I have DSMLink so my question is, is there any reason not to get the 850s?

I have never upgraded fuel injectors before, and this is my first time using something to tune (dsmlink) so I am fairly new to the whole scene.

I am very technically capable though, I know computers well and have done several engine/tranny swaps on various vehicles.

I am just wondering if there is any reason NOT to go larger than you need, I've read that larger injectors can be harder to tune, but since I have dsmlink I am just not certain about which to get, especially since they are all the same price.

There is no reason not to go bigger. Get the biggest injectors you can afford up to FIC's 1150's. Once you step up to the 1600's then people sometimes have trouble tuning them at idle. (Although, FIC will soon be releasing bigger injectors that can idle well.)

Yea, definitely go with the bigger injectors. There's no sense in buying smaller ones with the chance that you'll end up needing bigger injectors later. You said you're new at tuning, that's not a problem. Here's the chart from DSMLink's user manual - all you do is plug in the Global and Dead Time for the injectors. Very easy.

Size (cc/min) Global (%) Dead time (ms)
RC 550 - 18% 180
Hahn 625 - 18% 180
Denso 660 - 31% 180
Denso 720 - 38% 450
PTE 580 - 16% 180
PTE 680 - 30% 210
PTE 780 - 40% 315
PTE 880 - 46% 330
FIC 650 - 31% 315
FIC 750 - 40% 315
FIC 850 - 47% 315
FIC 950 - 53% 315

High the better, but you need 255lph pump, AFPR, and fuel rail too.

You don't NEED any of that to run bigger injectors.

An upgraded fuel rail isn't needed unless you want to run deep in the 9's.
Bigger pump should come before bigger injectors but it's not needed.
An aftermarket fpr is not needed either.

Shoot he dont even need a fuel rail to get in the 9's. There are people running 10's on e85 with the stock rail and they are usually pumping 30% more fuel through that thing than on gas. Our fuel rails flow real well.
