Ok well I bought a A/T 1992 Eagle Talon TSI fwd about a week ago. It's ALL STOCK. I love the car, the body and interior are both very clean! I paid $1000 for it, which I didn't think was bad at all. Car run's, start up everytime, no missfiring, idles good, no knocks, overall the motor is in good running condition for having 130k miles. So far I have done nothing to the car but little stuff. I have a K&N only aftermarket part on the car so far. Well I have about $3000 to $4000 to spend on my car (including tranny swap). I was wondering if it would be smart to replace all the belts, and new gasket's. I heard though since my motor run's fine now I should wait till a problem occurs, because once I start tearing into my motor I will encounter more problems I heard? In the end im looking for good daily driver but with a good amount of power. I saw SBR's site sell's a 1g auto turbo upgrade kit. It's around $900, but include's 16g turbo, evo manifold, other misc's parts.. Also on SBR site they have gasket rebuild kits and timing belt kit, are they worth buying? I was planning on replacing the valve cover gasket because it leaks. And what other thing's should I do under the hood so the car won't be breaking down every day and be able to handle the higher boost of the 16g. I plan on only running about 12lb's for daily driving.

But I need to know a few majors things first.. Since my car is automatic I read that the injectors are 390's for the smaller 13g turbo and also the cam's are different for lower tourqe? If I plan on getting the 16g kit I would think I would need a 250 fuel pump, and 550 injectors. I was also planning on swapping it over to manual. Because the automatic tranny has a problem, pulls strong up to 3k rpm than slowly moves faster?

If anything seems like it makes no sense in what i just wrote sorry. It's late and I am tired sorry..

Well..the 1g's from 1989-1994 had a 14b turbo on them, with 450 injectors. As for running a daily amount of 12lbs of boost...the 14b can certainly and reliably hold that on its own..but if you want better air volume for the turbo you can do a 16g set-up..combined with a 190fph fuel pump. 190 is plenty big for a pump..and the stock 1g injectors can support 18lbs of boost.
If you want to as far as routine maintenance you can change all of the belts and fluids of your desire... check the coolant and tranny fluid as well and keep them up to date. good luck man. :thumb:

Do you know when the timing belt was changed last?

Also, the 1g autos have 390cc injectors, 1g manuals have 450cc. the cams wont make much of a difference. I would say go with a intake and exhaust to start. You can get 1g manual injectors (450cc) if you are going to get a 16g and they will be good enough to support around 18psi. As for fuel pump, Id say walbro 190 so you dont have to get a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. Also once you start modding your car I would highly suggest getting a logger.
I would also suggest saving some of that money for when things do break, because they will! And when you need to replace a part, replace it with a upgraded performance part :thumb:

*if you are looking for 450cc injectors I have a set i'll sell ya. PM me if interested

I PM'ed you about the injectors.I don't know exaclty when the t-belt was changed. I know it has been kept up though. Becuase the oil change sticker say's it should be changed at 130k miles which is where it's at now so I will be change the oil. Also when i order the turbo kit, than i will pick up the walbro 190 pump. So that pump will just swap right in place no new parts need? And intake and exhaust cam's would it be ok to put stock cam's from a 1g manual in? Or should I buy aftermaket one's. And the timing belt doesn't look brand new but doesn't have much wear. The other belt's look good. One of the belt's squeek though? I was thinking power steering belt but after the car warms up the squeeking stops. Maybe I just have to tighten them..
