I have a modded '98 GSX. The other day I was getting on the highway, wot in 2nd, and she fell on her face mid-pull. Kinda got back in it but then bogged down and died. Would start right back up and idle, but if I revved it up, it would bog when the rpms came back down, and would die immediately if I tried to drive. I unplugged the MAF (stock) which would allow me to drive, but not rev above 2k rpm, whether in gear or neutral. Now with it home, sometimes it idles fine, and sometimes the idle fluctuates from about 400-2k with the MAF plugged in, with my afr changing with the rpms (full rich at high rpms, full lean at low rpms) and will try to die as soon as I touch the gas. If I let up quickly, it will catch itself and up the rpms and I can kind of work the pedal to keep the rpms up around 2k-3k with the afr dipping to full rich, then slowly going up to around 14. It will try to die if I let off the pedal. I have tested the MAF with a multimeter and everything seems to check out fine. My afpr is reading 40psi with the vacuum hose on, and 43 with it off. My boost gauge is reading about 22 inches of vacuum when it is idling normally. The cel came on when testing everything at home, pulled the codes and they were for the MAF, Intake Air Temperature, and Barometric Pressure Sensors, which I assume only threw because it was unplugged. Not sure if this is related at all, but a few months ago I had the water pump replaced and some boost leaks fixed by a knowledgable guy around here (used to work for FP) and I noticed when I got it back, it was idling high (around 2k steadily) so I turned the BISS screw in about 1 full turn and it brought it back down. But for the last month or so, sometimes it will idle steadily at 900, sometimes it will idle steadily from 1,500-2k, seemingly randomly. Any ideas?
