It seems like my throttle is sticking. like if i step on the gas in gear goin down the road, then let off the pedal, then like 5 seconds later itll finally rev all the way down. why is it doing this? i did take my stock air filter off and cleaned it out but it doesnt make sense.

no. also, im replacing my axle (AGAIN) because its coming apart or something. makes a real loud noise. there is grease around the axle shaft near the tranni with little metal pieces in it. would that cause my problem? like between shifts, (5speed) the rpms will jump. just when i let off the pedal, itll finally idle all the way down like 5 secs after.

is your car an AUTO ? i had a similar problem before with my AUTO 97 GST , i know your car is N/ T but the below might help

check out the transmission. if the tranny brake is fried, the entire friction surface will worn and the drum will be shot as well.

The torque converter might be pulling fluid into the hydraulic valve at idle because of the transbrake failure, causing the engine to bog down as you described.

take it for a shop and let them check it for you

good luck

Probably just a improperly adjusted/sticking throttle cable, mine was both when I got it. Just had to re-adjust it and spray some silicone down the sheath and it works fine now.

My car did the same thing and sometimes the rpms wouldnt come back down. It ended up being the cruise control and i took it out and got a non cruise cable. Been good sence.
hopefully that is all it is in your case.

There was a big black wire under the throttle cable. Ive had the flew for a few days so i havent felt like checking the car out and didnt think itd be something that simple. Thanks.
