fast idle at start up!!!!!!

i have a stock 91 tsi and when the car is cold and i start it up it will idle at 2200 to 2500 rpms for about 4 to 5 minutes until the car warms up and then it runs at about 850 like it should but what will fix the fast idle at start up its really anouing me any info would be great thanks.

thats normal thats how the car gets warmed up

are you sure its suppose to idle that fast though ive never had a car idle that fast at start up maybe 1500 or so but never 2500 just doesnt seem right to me
