fan belt/timing chain

when ever i start my car my fan belt squeks and iv tried lubing it should i just replace it or can i do nething about it and my other question is i need to replace my timing chain how much do they run and can i do the work my self?

Theres an adjusment bolt on the alternator to tighten up the accessory belt. And you don't have a timing chain, you have a timing belt.

get a manual dude!!! it will list all the factors that can cause a squaky belt, dont try to lube it!!! good luck.

If you lube a belt it's more than likely just going to squeal more.

Get a shop manual, they are worth their weight in platinum.
