Falken 512 - what are your thoughts

I need new tires and I'm thinking about falken 512's. Does anyone have these tires? What are your thoughts? Any other recomendations?

I'm running 205/55R16 tires size and I need a good year round tire. (Winter's coming )

I have them, but unfortunately I haven't gotten them mounted yet.

i have them, and im on my 2nd set of them. I really like the tires, very good in wet and snow, and give good traction in dry conditions. Tire wear isnt major at all, i think you will enjoy them very much. There also a pretty good price.

I just bought 215/55/16 Falken FK451's.

They're a ultra high performance all season....
The best in wet weather traction, and superior dry traction as well.
I paid $396 out the door mounted on my stock rims from America's Tire....

The other interesting thing about the FK451 is that the base compound is the same as in the entire tread of an Azenis Sport. This means that the FK451 maintains it's grip as it ages (instead of turning into a rock). It also means that if you shave an FK451 down to about four 32nds, you have an Azenis Sport, but in a variety of sizes that are not directly available.

Until recently, this was a secret. But the cat came out of the bag at the SCCA autocrossing national championships, where many of the fast cars (including the winners) in the street-tire classes were on shaved FK451s.

Thanks for the feedback. I got the 512's and I like them. I got all 4 new tires and a 4 wheel alignment. I had forgoten what it feels like to drive without some vibration in the steering wheel.

I stayed away from the 451's because I thought I would get longer life out of the 512's. We'll see.
