ok so i bought a new performance radiator along with hat i decided to buy two Fal slim fans. i cut the stock fans wiring harness off and planned on just splicing the wires of the new fans with the old... but there lies the problem the new fans have two wires red and black... and the stock wiring harness has four wires two blue two black, but on each of those there are silver and black stripes i do believe. So i was wondering can i use my stock harnesses? i dont want to have to wire up a switch.

The multiple lines on the fan wiring might have come from either a multi-speed setup or from the temperature sensor on your old radiator. Which fan (side) are you talking about?

The passenger side has the main fan that cycles when the engine hits normal temps and might have a temp sensor wiring along with the fan wiring. The driver side fan runs in conjunction with the A/C and should have a setup for two speeds with one set of wires routed to a resistor to reduce the electricity to the fan and reducing the speed.

Here's the disclaimer: I just described the setup on 1g's and I know it's the same on some 2g's. I do not know if it is exactly like this on the 99's but it should give you an idea of what types of things to look for.

Be sure to use a connector though. My rad fans were hard wired in when I bought my car.. What good is that, when you can't remove the rad/fans.. I just used a connector I removed from something else. AC system I think (which was removed, so it was extra) gives it a stock look too..

The 2g fans are not wired at all similiar to the 1g.

But here's how the wire those slim fans onto your 99: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/problem-diagnosis/261629-fans-running-all-time.html
