failed e check

Ok so i failed my echeck today, and i was 400% over the leagle limit of hydro carbons. Does anyone kno what i could do to improve this. I was thinking of a tune up, though i only have to put 200 dollars into fixing it. If it still doesnt pass it will pass because i mafe the effort.

What state are you in now? Ohio doesn't have emissions testing. Do you have all of your emissions stuff still on? Charcoal canister? Cat/no cat?

Well then the countys must be different. Here in Mahoning there is no check.

Theres like 7 counties or so in Northern Ohio that need it. It sucks =/

Also, I believe you have to spend $300 to try to fix it before they'll let you pass.

youse guyses are lucky... I takes 500 out here in cali to be exempt, and even then they still probably wont do it (we are a green state.... yeahhh)

i think when the hydrocarbons are high its due to a b ad cat, just buy a 3 in high flow from vibrant, they only run about 100 bucks

no i dont but i am gonna do a tune up tonight. i hope that works a little. when i go to Echeck again i am gonna run 94 and hope that burns a little cleaner

Just check your cat(maybe it desintegrated ) ..a new 02 sensor with a new cat = gauranteed pass -

Get a ebay 02 sensor ..like 30 bucks(you have to wire it in ..no biggie)

I did the tune up. And let me say wow what a difference, i mean it really does help a lot. Much more smooth engadgements, as well i changed the oil. I just used conventional high milalage.
