I was just wondering if any one used fabric spray on any thing other than your carpet?
Trunk cover,head liner,door inserts,etc
Also do you have a pic?

yes I do!

Vinyl/Fabric Paint, Semi Gloss (Flat Black), Matches the dash perfectly. Haven't done the headliner or trunk cover, because will be replacing those with CF.

Uhm, Another guy... has a black GSX... He did black/gray... Looks insane! I'd do it, but don't wanna be a copy cat LOL.

Just make sure you prep the vinyl, if you spray vinyl... I'm still fixing my mistakes... I dont know if my door panels can be scratched now, like I had problems with before. But I'm not going to take any risks and do another coat.

If your going to do the doors, a can per door! All the plastic stuff I sugjest using a different paint. But if you want to use the same paint, Prep Prep Prep! As for fabric... some people say they used this stuff on thier carpet and it works fine... I used it on one of my seats that I'm about to redo with leather, and I didn't like it.

Do you have a pic of that seat?
I was thinking of doing my back seats because they are old and faded.
The front seats will be replaced with racing seats.
Yup they are still in the plastic. I am still trying to figure out how to use the brackets from the stock seats.
:toobad: $350 just siting there looking pretty

I tried using the stock seat brackets, its almost virtually impossible. Unless your really tiny... cause they raise the seat really high... Our seats move all around and are adjustable unlike racing seats. Which is why I just decided to replace some of the foam in my seats with Memory Foam, and get some OEM/Aftermarket Seat Covers for the front and rear in leather with red stitching. I don't know what it is about that red stitching...

Only way I'll put any kind of different seat in my car, would be if its OEM 4g Seats. But, LOL yeah right on trying to find some for sale.

I was thinking of selling those seats.
I would like to get some new seats OEM front and back.
How much do you think it would be to get them redone at a shop?

I'd rather have the aftermarket ones. Screw Mitsubishi OEM... I prefer high quality, and I prefer the color I desire... not mitsubishi's colors.

Plus, I don't think you'll get them that cheap from mitsu. I could call Monday and find out tho. I get 20% off.

If you guys are having issues with the paint scratching up on plastic peices, there is a plastic paint that is made call Fusion by Krylon, it is amazing on plastic, holds up super well and dries really damn fast. :dsm:

if your doing any carpet get a hard brissle brush i use one made of straw and go left to right then brush the carpet with it. then go right to left and again brush the carpet. rinse repaeat about 5 times each way

Problem with Krylon Fusion and Vinyl, is the exact reason why you DON'T use it. And its made by Krylon, called Fusion. Got a little Mixed up there. Is it does NOT dry on Vinyl. At all! So if you want a totally jacked up Piece of work, DO NOT use Krylon Fusion. It is a Plastic/Wood spray paint only. I was mentioning mainly scratching on vinyl. Yeah I did mention plastic also, but if you use two different paints, chances are very strong that the color wont match. Which is why, use the same paint for all jobs.

I stupidly used it on my vinyl armwrest on my 86 Fiero GT... Peice looked killer, I was going to be very happy when it dried... it never dried... it was sticky the rest of the year I owned the car. I ended up just puting cloth over it and the Krylon helped stick the cloth.

Here is a pic of the seats.
Should i sell them or install them?

I used both Krylon Fusion and Duplicolor Vinyl/Fabric paint on my interior and can tell you from personal expieriance that Fusion works GREAT on PLASTIC and Duplicolor works GREAT on VINYL. Depending on what your plans are for converting your interior to black/gray/whatever color you want, using a combination of both types of paint would be recommended, mainly because I haven't used Duplicolor on plastic.

Krylon Fusion Flat Black matches up being the same color as Duplicolor's Flat Black. If you want a shiny "wet" look, go with Krylon Fusion Semi-gloss and Duplicolor's Gloss Black, those 2 match up exactly to each other.

As stated by InfiniteGSX... the flat black matches up perfectly with any OEM black interior that you may or may not already have. Also, like he's stated, I would recommend getting yourself a red Scotch Brite pad to rough up the surface's of anything that you decide to paint, both plastic and vinyl.

Yes... I used Krylon Fusion Semi-gloss black for my center console and then Duplicolor Gloss black for my armrest. There's absolutely no difference at all.

I was fortunate enough to have a spare airbag laying around where I could test both the Duplicolor flat black and gloss black and compare it to the Fusion before I went forward, but yes... they match up remarkably well.

To the OP... if you decide to install those seats you should think about painting the perfed inserts on your back seats to match. I was so happy with the results that I took my back seat out and painted the perfed inserts black as well. Turned out great!!

I used Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric spray on all the lame rainbow parts of my 1st gen interior, it actually turned out quite nice. But I do touch it up a couple times a year :)

I don't know, but theres a fabric company selling remanufactured leather oem seat covers, front and back seats for 700 bucks, and for 300 more, he'll add seat warmers! LOL

500 for front seats, 700 for all seats.

I was wrong, its 500 for 2 front and 2 year seats. And no additional charge for for special colors! Since I want the black with blue leather and red stitching. 700 was just the price he was showing from other people.

I'm about to order my custom seats for 540 shipped. Black/Blue Leather OEM Seats with special embroidery.
