I recently purchased my first DSM, bought a pocketlogger with MMCD to help me diagnos some problems. Everything seems to check out except for the fact that in heavy acceleration, I'm seeing up to 45 degrees of timing advance... suggestions please, this can't be good for the car.

Some more information about your car, mods, and other problems your experiencing would be more then helpful.

Just updated my mods, theres not really any other problems besides clutch chatter at idle, and I think the o2 sensor is shot. Other than that, everything checks out.

The logger showers 2,3,4 counts of knock under hard accel with timings of about 18*. The next reading after that reads 45* of timing, this happens 3 times throughout the run, directly after knock.

Ok so if you go WOT from 2krpm up to redline you see up too 45*?? What is your knock level, it should also be maxing at 43 counts. How much fuel are you pulling with those injectors to get a good afr?

It looks like your pulling so much fuel that your stayin in the low timing map. Which the ecu thinks you are not even in WOT. I would through a tank of e85 in that thing and try to tune it out at 20psi watching your IDC's. Your problem is your pulling to much fuel and need a good EMS or smaller injectors.

The 1g ecu will target as high as 43* of timing based on conditions.
This is the stock 1g timing curve

Does this happen when you stay under full throttle or when you release the gas. Its normal to see high timing when you are not in wot.
