When I put my 680's in with the maft translator, If I went quater throttle even in neutral, Black smoke would dump out the exhaust, And break up really bad. When I went' into boost, The car just lost it's power and stuttered with loads of black smoke out the exhaust. It would sound like you were banging the revlimiter. I was VERY RICH, Once I started to lean the car out more and more, It got better and then evenutally gone for good.

Let me get this straight -- You have a brand new engine with 10 miles on it, and you have been boosting and racing it from the getgo without breaking it in, and you're surprised you're having problems?

Not that this is causing this specific problem but isn't that, well, bad for a brand new engine?

Yes, I believe it is very bad to be doing that to a brand new engine, Unless the motor isn't brand new and was out of another car? I believe every new engine hasto go through a break in period, Correct?

youre running rich as a pig my friend, check your logs and get a wideband tune if you can. Try to lean out the afc if anything.

A new or rebuilt engine has to be ran pretty hard during the first twenty miles of driving. If this is not done you won't get the best ring seal. The Haynes manual also tells you to beat the piss out of it.

ok look guys like i said THIS PROBLEM OCURS IN NEUTRAL when i tried with the car under a load it was the drive home from the place i dropped the motor in and i only went "wot" from 2500 rpm's to 5000 rpm's then i let off. that was the only time i put the car under a load. what do you think i am retarted the engine was done by J and J automotive mechine shop in ridgecrest ca ill get the # later for who ever wants it

thx

I dont know, who would listen to someone Especially HAYNES manual about beating the piss out of your car, during the first 20 miles, LOL. I know I didnt break my motor in like that. I drove it easy for 100 miles changed oil, easy for 500 more miles changed oil, 1200 miles changed too Mobil 1, then started too boost around 1500 miles, changing the oil again at 3000 miles. I have no problems with my motor.

First, you REALLY need to the English language, and how to type. Second, you already have your answer, you need to tune the car. Its running extremely rich right now. What kind of fuel control do you have? Do you have a wideband 02 sensor?

I've heard varying descriptions of whether you should run a brand new engine hard to seat the rings correctly or not... when I build up my motor, I'm going to take it nice and easy for the first 600 miles or so... i figure whatever would have changed by then would have done so... so 20+psi after that :thumb:
