Just an FYI. I gave Matt a call and determined that he had a hole in the vacuum line going from the compressor boost source to the wastegate. This was allowing the boost signal to bleed off while guranteeing that the wastegate spring would never see enough airflow to open.

Some new vacuum should fix that up in a jiff.

Cheerio,

Andy

Did you make sure everything is hooked up properly. Vacuum line is using one and whatnot. Check it over real good and make sure it's all working and make sure the wastegate has got the right spring.

That was what I recommneded in the other post. Nice job. If that wouldn't have fixed I would have gone to look at it personally...nothing better to do today.

Update: As u guys know, I had a vacuum leak, so I went to auto zone and got some 5/16 fuel injection hose and put it on. I just got back from a test drive and its still not opening but I did notice that when I got around 6 or 7 psi the car would hesitate and backfire a little bit. What would cause this? Would it have to due with my fuel pressure? Thats the only thing I can think of.

I think you need to test for boost leaks before going any further and make sure you also don't have any leaks before the turbo in the exhaust system. Aside of those suggestions, I'd pull the plugs and read them for leanness or richness. Also you needed 3/16 fuel hose not 5/16 which is a bit large.

Update: k guys I went today and bought some new spark plugs and plug wires and took it for a spin. The car ran great no more misfiring but the car still is going past 8 psi when I have a 38mm with a 8 psi spring in it!! What do I do? How is the wastegate suppose to be installed just to make sure I have it right!!!???

Do you have picture's of how yours is installed so we can tell you if you have something backwards. How far past 8psi does it go?

If Mesa wasn't so far away I would be all for a roadtrip there if you can't get it figured out.

Then try it another way if it isn't working.

I'd also pull the cap off to make sure that the spring is seated correctly.

On a good note, at least she's not breaking up anymore under boost. I told you those platinums were crap.
