hey guys, i have an internal 91 oil cooler

just wondering where i can buy the external oil filter housing + stock 90 lines other than the dealer.
who else makes other external oil coolers? how hard is it to replace the oil filter housing assemblies? i have a 91 assembly right now.
my car already has a 90 oil cooler core already in place in front of the radiator. just need to hook up the lines and the oil filter cooler assembly.

Are you looking or an adapter, that screws on where your stock oil filter goes on so you can mount your filter somewhere else? if that is what you are looking for Canton Racing has there old style remote filter adaptors on clearance for $5 a piece. They are cast aluminum with the ports on the top. There newer style is a little bit nicer it's billet with the ports on the side and you can postion the ports were you need them.

As far as the lines I would just buy some -AN lines and fittings. There are a lot of companies that make good oil coolers. Such as Mocal, Setrab, Titan-lite, TCI, B&M, Flex-a-Lite, Modine, Delphi, Thermal Dynamics, and a whole lot more.

the housing is just 3 or 4 bolts if i recall. and a gasket of course. but you can have it off in under two minutes.
another two minutes and the new ones on.
if you are running stock lines then just get 90 oil filter ousing bolt it up, get somecrush washers for the banjo bolts and thats it. if you want to run some different lines, then you need 16 x1.5 thread metric to -8 an adaptors. you will need 4. two for the cooler two for the housing. then go to a hydrolic store like the parker store and get some cheap reusable 8-an fittings that will bend the hose to where you want it.
but it might be worht it to ask the dealer how much just the lines and banjo bolts are. but i know if you use flare fittings you will have better flow.

You have never had the oil filter housing off a 4g63t have you. Its not as simple as 2 mins off and on. Fist off he has to start by removing his oil filter draining the oil, remove the water lines from his current housing and drain the coolant from there as well. Then the Crank pulley has to come off and at least the bottom bolts from the tb cover. All because and this is the great part they decided to put one bolt behind the TB cover for the filter housing.

When DSMJIM and I changed his out that is what we did along with removing as many bolts from the TB cover as we could if you go though the trouble of removing the Alternator pulley and power steering pulley then you can get the cover right off. We just took a small pry bar and got the cover out far enough to remove the bolt.

Also you probably still have the AC system on your car we don't thats another belt you have to remove and re adjust the tensioner.

Trust me in every way shape and form its not a 2 min job and not to mention I do all my work on my hoist doing that on your back in your garage is even worse!

The above advice on the lines though is correct you need the special banjo's that are a goofy and expensive size. For my oil cooler lines I used the barbed fittings with push on hose and clamps no probs at all easy to work with etc...
