exploding flywheels??

i was doing some reading in the threads about exploding flywheels
never knew this was possibel so along with my clutch kit and flywheel(both act)
i am also getting a scattershield for safety
but what are the chances that an act flywheel explodes has this happened before(with this brand of flywheel?)
a scattershield is oke but if the flywheel explodes i am stiil gonna wrek part of my engine
would be a shame with a bad choice of flywheel
i heard a lot off good things about act clutches and flywheels (performance wise )
but what about safety and durabillity?

Just about any flywheel could be at risk.

I think the ACT fly wheels should be a good quality and so not be prone to exploding.

I would worry more about reused/resurfaced stock flywheels.....you really have to check for cracks. Lighten stock flywheels are suposed to be the worst.

I shattered my stock. was a fun time. NOT. totalled car.
go aftermarket. act should work fine

The only ones at a true risk of shattering are VERY old stock units or lightened stockers. I had a act XACT for about a year and NEVER gave me trouble. I would recomend the act 12lbs xact as it is SFI certified and top notch quality.

was this with the act streetlite flywheel?

again like I said OLD FLYWHEELS AND LIGHTENED STOCKERS! If you dont think a 95 cars flywheel is old then you are saddly mistaken. I took mine out of a bone stock ride and with 80k on it it was heat cracked and so on. thank you and goodday
